Just want to take a moment to thank all 11,500+ people who have listened to Breaking Binaries this year! Considering I had no capacity to continue season 2 & we've been on a 10 month hiatus I am incredibly grateful! Perhaps 2022 holds a season 3... so many binaries yet to break..

I am rubbish at communicating about my podcast @breakinbinaries but its perhaps the most "me" project ive got to do in recent years, & though its been almost a year hiatus & i am *so* tired & 0 capacity, I just want to say truly thank you to all who've engaged with it! Jzk <3

An insightful conversation between @thebrownhijabi and @vanessatsehaye . Eritrea is not spoken of enough and we all have a lot of insidious pre-conceived notions about both neo and post colonialism and what that entails. People are often forgotten over the emphasis on statehood.

Did you catch episode 9? Necolonial/Postcolonial with @vanessatsehaye - we talked about her human rights advocacy regarding Eritreans and how their suffering under the Eritrean regime throws up important questions for simple binaries! breakingbinaries.podbean.com/e/necolonialpo…

This week's episode was a crucial one to understand connections between imperialism, borders and national dictatorships in countries like Eritrea, and why the best way to center justice begins with the people. Thank you @vanessatsehaye for breaking Necolonial/Postcolonial with me

This episode of @breakinbinaries is extremely insightful and thought provoking! We use terms like “religion” and “secularism” without thinking about context or meaning. Give it a listen. @thebrownhijabi in conversation with @suhraiyajivraj 🔥🙏🏽
breakingbinaries@breakinbinaries

Secularism/Religion was one of my favourite binaries to break this season! As we come up to the last few eps of season 2 do have a listen to this conversation with @suhraiyajivraj who unpacked layers and layers of assumptions!

Something that really, really angers me is when people defend a government (for eg Eritrea) *purely* for ideological reasons & disregard the lived experiences of the ppl living under that government’s rule. Check out @breakinbinaries where I discussed this with @thebrownhijabi.

I learnt so much from talking to @vanessatsehaye from @onedayseyoum on this episode of @breakinbinaries; western analyses of post-independence countries often fail to account for the realities on the ground! breakingbinaries.podbean.com/e/necolonialpo…

I’m soo hyped to share this episode of @breakinbinaries! Secularism/Religion is a binary that even so many critical thinkers on race & coloniality fail to interrogate! Please do listen! Maintaining secularism is neutral or universal is plain old Eurocentric racism 🤷🏽‍♀️
breakingbinaries@breakinbinaries

Sooooo excited to share the latest episode: 💥SECULARISM/RELIGION💥 with @suhraiyajivraj! This is such an important conversation as this binary is so pervasive and taken as common sense! Have a listen; let us know your thoughts!
