Nico O’Reilly is currently one of the best upcoming players in the Premier League and has the potential to challenge some of the best LBs ITW! I believe that the Premier League young player of season award is just the beginning of what’s yet to come in his career!🫡
Breaking The Lines@breakthelines

Two years ago, Nico O'Reilly hadn't played a minute of senior football. Fast-forward today and he's the Premier League Young Player of the Season and an FA Cup & EFL Cup champion, and he looks set to play a key role in England's World Cup. @TL_analytics: breakingthelines.com/player-analysi…

The most interesting storyline for City 26/27 is what happens to Nico O’Reilly. Do you keep him at left back and bench Guéhi for Gvardiol? Do you push him to midfield in the wake of Bernardo’s departure? Some big questions for Maresca but I don’t think benching him is a choice.

Wissa, Woltemade,Elanga and Ramsey aren't bad profiles as people put them, in my opinion, Eddie Howe hasn't profiled them into their best traits. We saw Elanga thrive on counter attack as a sole outlet outside etc

"Elite recruitment should focus on role compatibility just as much as talent identification. Otherwise, clubs risk spending millions on players they admire without ever truly understanding them." @JahvonBarrett on the Premier League's scouting problem: breakingthelines.com/premier-league…

"Great scouting should not simply identify who is performing well. It should identify why they are performing well. Football is increasingly obsessed with data and output, but context remains king." This is a fantastic read by @JahvonBarrett:

I remember Pep Guardiola in a good way, but the tragedies he caused to a young me in 2009 and 2011. I remember watching those games with my elder cousin in the outskirts of Kisii town. I remember how sad we were.

Guardiola didn't build a football team. He built a doctrine. A faith. A total belief system with scripture, congregation, heretics and a reformation. And Cruyff wrote the scripture in 1973. My latest for @breakthelines 🔵🔴

17 years ago, Pep Guardiola capped off the greatest rookie managerial season of all time with a treble. As Pep prepares to bid farewell to his Manchester City chapter, @Itadorinotyuji does a masterful job analyzing his Barcelona tenure. Well worth your time.

Tottenham going down this weekend would be the most shocking relegation since —- I’m going to say Schalke or Leicester.

From Juventus to Milan, from Manchester United to Liverpool, we've seen quite a few major clubs suffer relegation. Could Tottenham or West Ham join them this year? @HE_Ftbl takes a look at the most shocking relegations in the history of football: breakingthelines.com/historical/the…

“Griezmann treated defensive sacrifice as part of artistic responsibility. He became a superstar willing to conduct anonymous labor. He possessed the vision of an artist while maintaining the mentality of a bricklayer.” This is a masterpiece on Atleti’s greatest-ever forward.

"While the physical decline was increasingly visible, Antonio Griezmann evolved into Atlético Madrid’s nervous system. His legs no longer dominated matches, so his mind started controlling them instead." @kapoordhruv755 takes a look at Griezmann's legacy: breakingthelines.com/player-stories…

20 years ago, Daniele De Rossi beat Patrick Vieira in a World Cup Final. This season, he’s replaced Vieira at the helm and dragged Genoa out of the relegation zone. Really excited to see how he fares with Il Grifone next season.

Genoa got off to a catastrophic start to the season, failing to win their first 9 matches and descending to the bottom of table. But under Daniele De Rossi, Genoa have hit their stride and consolidated themselves in the mid-table positions. @scot_munroe: breakingthelines.com/serie-a-analys…
