Trying to categorize time periods when examining student grades over time and am struggling with what to call the current time period. Fall 2019 & before: "Pre-COVID" Winter 2020 - Summer 2022: "Peak COVID" Fall 2022 - now? ... Any suggestions?

@Dr_Perreault I think so. In the past, more $$ in the scholarship system meant that many (and once upon a time, even most!) students could get a scholarship, and an NSERC PDF. Stagnant funding = poor stipends AND no growth in system to support increasing numbers of students.

So yes grad students need more $$. But is increasing award $$ the best approach? In over 6 years I've had only 3, 3!, students awarded. What about the rest? Seems to me grant $$ needs to go up, and institutions need to raise minimum stipends accordingly. Am I wrong? Could be.

We just scratch the surface in this, but it's a great dataset which we invite anyone and everyone to explore! Plenty of new candidate genes and process to throw into hypotheses about your favourite diapause model.

@SJC_fishy Aw shucks! It was indeed great to connect. @SJC_fishy did an impressive job of facilitating... he really put me through my intellectual paces! I was impressed at the level of engagement, depth of thinking, and open-mindedness of the whole group.

@JuhaatLFPress I finished my PhD [checks notes] 22 years ago, and still have that dream sometimes. It's an Indonesian Language course, FWIW. I've 1) never been to Indonesia and 2) never taken a University-level foreign language course.

I graduated from university 7 years ago. I still have this recurring nightmare there’s I class I was enrolled in but totally forgot and never attended, and I just remember about it days before the final paper and exam are due. What is that all about?
