if there is any preference, then the poor, the ignoble, the unlearned, the oppressed are the ones who are considered first for the gospel.

Meet some of the people whose lives were upended after their rural dialysis center closed. Some moved to be closer to care. One is living in a rental in another city on weekdays. Another drives 4+ hours roundtrip for care, 3 times a week. Read and listen: npr.org/2026/04/15/nx-…

Jesus became the scapegoat to reveal the universal lie of scapegoating. He became the sinned-against one to reveal the hidden nature of scapegoating, so that we would see how wrong even thoughtful and well-meaning people can be. buff.ly/ONs1yLY

@rashmoosten @brmorris the Apostle Paul strongly desired peace, unity, and harmony among believers, frequently urging them to maintain the "unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). He emphasized that the church, as the body of Christ, should live in concord, forgiving one another,

@waitingfordb @BrooksPotteiger Did the preacherman explain the bible to the HP "reporter" it seems like a missed opportunity to love a neighbor. Is loving your neighbor not something you and the preacherman are interested in?

@brentprint @BrooksPotteiger Now you’re just being deliberately obtuse. The HP “reporter” claimed he wanted Talarico to die, which is a complete lie when you know the Bible. It’s all over X, but you seem to bury your head when it fits your agenda. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Wow guys, looks like the slander campaign is humming along quite nicely these days. Quick clarification - when a Christian prays that someone be “crucified with Christ” that does not include making a stop at the lumber yard. In means repentance, salvation, and walking in newness of life. Galatians 2:20 and all that. Carry on!

@MyDumbAlias @jkbdco @waitingfordb @BrooksPotteiger No, its where The Apostle Paul viewed "war" primarily as a spiritual battle rather than physical, carnal conflict. He described the Christian life as a "good fight" against evil, using military metaphors to emphasize endurance, discipline, and divine, rather than worldly weapons

@brentprint @jkbdco @waitingfordb @BrooksPotteiger Is that the famous passage where he decried imprecatory Psalms as wrong and suggested that those wolves abusing faith should be permitted to implement *their* brand of Christian Nationalism but others shouldn't? You need to give your husband back his phone, ma'am.

@rashmoosten @brmorris Are you talking about Galatians 2:20, where the Apostle Paul expresses that he has been spiritually united with Jesus in His death and resurrection. This means that Paul no longer lives for himself, but Christ lives in him, guiding his life through faith and love.

@ZachWLambert It doesn't seem like Pete is claiming to know the mind of God. It seems like he is seeking God's blessing, no? Now we can argue about whether Almighty God would bless such action, but I don't think your quote really applies here.

I can't help but wonder if the many, many commenters hating on this guy for marrying this woman have kept themselves pure when it comes to pornography. Or are some sins okay and forgivable but not others?
Trevor Sheatz@TrevorSheatz

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)
