Hey everybody, I’ll get to the headline first. I have a brain tumor, it will (probably) be surgically removed on May 5, and I should be fine. If you want specifics, let’s start with this:

Prediction: By 2036, the NBA will expand the playoffs by one round. All 32 teams make the playoffs. First round is a five game series.

Lottery reform I’m in favor of: -Traded picks can be lotto protected, but no more specific than that -Limit on consecutive lottery results. Ex: team can’t pick top 2 in consecutive drafts -Conference finals teams are exempt from lotto selection (top 4) a year later

With two expansion teams likely incoming and taking up space at the bottom of the lottery, isn’t all this draft reform a little bit of an over correction?

The point I’m making is it’s unfair to put that on anyone. Draft the best players, the ones you hope can be second or third best. Anything beyond that is gravy.

In the last 17 seasons, 9 players have been the best player on a championship team. Only LeBron and Tatum were top 5 picks. If you make the case for AD, KD, TD, that’s 5 players in last 17 years. Best players on championship teams are usually guys that exceed expectations.

Couldn’t agree more I can feel the fanbase falling in love with Acuff and no doubt he’s going to be fun, but can you win a title with him as your best player? The lack of defense is worrying
