It reflects my own story.
At 16, football was everything to me. Then, because of who I was, I was pushed out — banished from the game I loved. Not for my ability. Not for my commitment. But simply for being me. That moment stayed with me, and it nearly took football away from my life altogether.
That’s why this matters.
No matter who you are — whether you’re a man or a woman, gay or straight, trans, Muslim, Hindu, Black or White — football is for everyone. This isn’t a political post. It’s an equality post. It’s about basic human respect.
We’re all the same people. Cut us open and we bleed the same colour.
Football should be a place of belonging, not fear. Of love, not hate. And it’s on all of us to protect that.
