If you read the quote in the article, the “may” in this sentence was added by the journalist, not the quoted scientist. It’s not inflammatory, it is entirely in line with predictions going back 4 or 5 decades.

What's the TTRPG that is least like D&D that you've had fun playing?

@huskyhuskarl I miss Touch AC. When you have that listed it is easy as a DM to narrate that if the roll missed, but hit touch, it was deflected by the armor. If it hit, it got through a weak point in the armor. I default to doing that for any miss which was a result of ten or above in 5E.

Armor Class makes more sense than armor as damage reduction. It's bananas that damage reduction is seen as the more "realistic" option.

@colewehrle I’m very excited for this aesthetic direction and you were quite clear early on about the map specifically not being what it would end up as. Each iteration on this project only makes me more enthused for the completion.

And, with all of that, I don't think I've ever seen a response quite like the one the map has garnered. Who knew sci-fi aesthetics were the third rail of game discourse!?

@mattcolville Absolutely! I’m having a blast running my group through the venerable Caverns of Thracia right now for just this reason - so many opportunities for improv, even as the combats unfold. And the baseline: Never cross a picket line

@KaiInRealLife I loved the recent video. And as someone who hasn’t run PF2E yet, that big rule book looks intimidating but it’s also well thought out and not at all bad for experienced role players to work through. Not as excellent as the beginner box appears though.
