@brian_perillat Not sure about ocean freight on a fluffy crop like oats. Trade data shows Aussie oats at US$280/t in Apr, but not sure if that's FOB or CNF.
Problem is it's just theoretical. China has barred Cdn oats other than "planting seed", which amounts to about 1,000 tonnes per month.

Wouldn't it be great if Mr. Carney could use his friendly relations with China to open its doors to Cdn oats.
Another large (and growing) buyer would help diversify demand.

My accountant told me he had a client who had a over million dollars in living expenses and several others that were close. Both my accountant and banker tell me that low living expenses are one of the primary keys to success in agriculture.

Rarely do farm income/expense reports include family living. Sometimes they include salary. I did see people go under or sell ground in the late 2010’s from outrageous living expenses so let's not ignore them.

People generally just take the doctors advice - Here is a drug to cope with high cholesterol. So they take the pills rather than go learn what to actually do.

@brian_perillat @StandUpForFact You are not wrong. But it ain’t gonna happen. You could have doctors giving the BEST advice. But it’s up to the patient to know what to do. Ie. What’s right. What’s wrong. Most people know. They just don’t always follow. Even when they know.

@aggiecoolchick @StandUpForFact Many people have unhealthy diets. That adds stress on health care system. Nutrition needs to be a central part of treatment and I think starts with Drs. Can you get referred to a dietician? Is it covered by health care? This should give doctors more time to do critical Dr work

@aggiecoolchick @StandUpForFact Haha. I just had friends with something come up and Dr has prescription ready to go. Very little diet advice. Friends had to do own research on diet and exercise and got to healthy range. No meds needed. Dr pushed a drug and very little health advice. To me that’s a disservice

Doctors do give health advice. At least some. But patients don’t always heed that advice. In my experience. Speaking for a friend. 🤣

@aggiecoolchick @StandUpForFact Not sure I agree. It seems doctors are so quick to prescribe meds/drugs versus sending them to a Dietician? Even to youngish people. I think a bit more nutrition knowledge might help Doctors serve patients more effectively by setting them up for long term health success.
