After nearly a decade on the east coast, @SogiBear & I found out we’re finally moving back to the west coast. Georgetown made, Temple tuff, CHOP molded, and soon to be Stanford-trained pediatric anesthesiologist. Just to think, a skateboard and immigrant’s dream brought me here.

Crazy to think that I'm already half way done with anesthesia residency! Cheers to more growth, progress, and learning this upcoming academic year. CA-2 year here we come!

Finally got to meet the amazing @reece_nguyen in-person today at Columbia anesthesia’s grand rounds! His talk was phenomenal and I was glad that so many people in our department had the chance to learn about this very important topic! 😃

From putting in epidurals in laboring patients to being a part of the organ transplantation process to helping patients get through difficult times- I gotta say, anesthesia was definitely the right choice for me!

When a patient is extremely grateful to you for placing their epidural and giving them comfort during their pregnancy 😭 Gotta love anesthesia!

I’ve never been so tired.

Probably going to say this to myself throughout my career, but it's so cool being someone's anesthesiologist! Truly an amazing field!!

When the pediatric pre-op nurse tells you that you'd be a great match for pediatric anesthesia after seeing my interactions with patients and families. Made my day!! 😭

Had a much needed retreat weekend with my fellow CA-1’s in CT! Grateful to be part of such an amazing, talented, accomplished, and intelligent class!

Intubated my first pediatric patients (DL and video laryngoscopy), did my first pediatric IV’s and did my first fiberoptic intubation within the past week! Excited for more growth to come! Peds anesthesia is truly my calling 😭😭

Excited, but nervous about tomorrow! Will be intubating my first pediatric patient. Best of luck to my fellow CA-1’s!

Last day of intern year tomorrow! What a journey it has been so far. Excited for the next set of anesthesia interns to take my place 😂 In all seriousness though, best of luck to the incoming interns. Take care of yourselves and prioritize ALL aspects of your health!

T minus 9 days until the end of intern year! Also found out who my 1:1 attendings will be next month! Can't wait to be in the pediatric OR's in July doing what I love 😭

As an aspiring pediatric anesthesiologist, I'm super grateful that Columbia anesthesia has us do rotations in general pediatrics as well as pediatric cardiology during our intern year. It helps confirm my interest in the field and you get really cute patients as a bonus 😭😭
