Took my friend Sharon to the @MetOpera last night, to see the final performance of their spectacular 1988 production of "Aida" [a new production is coming in 2024-25]. It had soaring sets and ornate costumes, and was grand opera at its grandest.

I rolled the commercials into an NBA game today, the final #ABCSports telecast to be controlled in NYC (after 60+ yrs?); those operations are being moved to Texas. Inspired by the great legacy of the Sports division, I got the show off the air on-time.

Went to the Metropolitan Opera with Sharon tonight, to see the glorious Zeffirelli production of “Turandot”. Spectacular. Wonderful performances by @HeldenMommy @eyvazov_yusif and @EleonoraBuratto @MetOpera

Had a wonderful, belated birthday dinner with Sharon tonight at Teruzushi, a limited-run NYC version of the fabled Japanese sushi restaurant. Chef Watanabe's summer restaurant-residency in Tribeca is worth the trip. #teruzushi #priceless

I've been to the Metropolitan Opera more than 200 times, but few performances have been as thrilling as hearing Javier Camarena sing "Ah, mes amis" last night. And then sing it again as an encore. Worthy of the two thunderous ovations he got. Amazing. @MetOpera @tenorjcamarena
