Save this from the scrap pile! It works, and I will include a parts machine. $150 for nostalgia! For some of my younger followers, it's an aerator!

I’m 58. Bruce is certainly not the first fur baby I have had to let go. I’m a dog person. A cat person. I grew up in horse and cattle country. I even have Tarantulas. But of all my animals one horse (Rebel) and one dog (Bruce) were total stand outs. We had our own language. A special shorthand that only we knew. The conversations were endless sessions of figuring it all out. And telling the world that we knew better than they did. Mostly. Bruce in particular was a talent at communicating. He always groked my code. Usually before I did, he knew my emotions. Countless hours of geeking, reading, creating, botching, obsessing and crying were shared over coffee and chew toys. I was gone for a period of time. Hospitalized. And when I returned, Bruce refused to leave my side. Not out of excitement to see me. But out of knowing his job as a caretaker. Black Pitbulls with clipped ears and large heads intimidate people. Large white dudes with beards and a level of intensity in their eyes intimidate people. Those that don’t know our soft hearts often make the wrong guess or guesses. Bruce was the expert in breaking down these walls. I took him everywhere. Because in Colorado you can do that. On occasion there were energies that Bruce didn’t like. And he didn’t puff up or growl. He just ignored. Turned his head towards the people that he wanted to like. And the brave people who came to meet us were not met with slobbers and jumps. No. He knew enough to make eye contact. Stand still. Let them approach. Let them feel his absurdly large head. He calmly stood and listened as they asked about his ears and if he bites and his age. He also had a simple rule: play with only the people you really know. From him, I learned this technique and I use it now. Not as well as he. But I try. Bruce also took his role as Alpha with my other animals in a much different way. He led from the back. If something wasn’t ok in pack behavior he corrected it and went on. There were no discussions. No negotiations. Simple leadership. Again, here I learned much. You’ve read this far. Thank you. I’m writing this more for me than for you. But I also am glad to share.

Update: Bruce’s vet called with blood test results. He’s in liver failure. So we will try some meds to aid that. But if he doesn’t eat even just a little in the next 3-4 days then it will be time to say goodbye. He’s a tough cookie and has bounced back before. So the next few days are critical. If he turns around then I will be glad to have tried. If not then I will make his last days the best.

Been battling Nematodes since 2012. Started using SeaBlend in 2020. One of the ingredients in this fertilizer is crab shells. Crab shells are chitin. Chitin is a natural Nematicide and builds a healthy and diverse soil biology. No more nematode problems.
