@MakeWaterSENSE has published a paper on Volume and Uncertainty estimates of on-farm reservoirs using surface reflectance and LiDAR. This could be used as an auditing tool in water governance or to gain knowledge on water losses at the field scale. doi.org/10.1016/j.envs…

Missing water in the Murray Darling Basin is a major issue and Accurately accounting for all the water appears to play a major role in this. @WaterTechPtyLtd is happy to be involved in the @MakeWaterSENSE project seeking to help with improved water use information.

An interesting ABC article on the outcomes of an assessment of river flows in the Murray-Darling Basin indicating that 20% of expected flows are missing. tinyurl.com/ABC-MDFlows @MakeWaterSENSE aims to help with improved water use information for modelling needs. @MD_Basin_Auth

Mick, this amazing storm fell between all the rain gauges. Fortunately, our HydroNET radar rainfall product captured it, measuring a peak of 145mm, in excess of a 1:2000 year storm! Imagine the devastation had the storm been over Ballarat, only 15km away.

@ballaratcourier Incredible! We captured it in our radar rainfall dataset in @HydroNET_AU, which confirms the reports of the Burrumbeet residents. The radar measured about 145mm, double that of a 1:100 year storm. Amazingly, it fell exactly between the two nearest rain gauges. See picture.

@NeilDufty @FMAAustralia @FloodsOrg This happens in Australia too. The HydroNET Water Control Room connects decision makers to various data sources and provides personalised dashboards, turning the data into meaningful content. The Goulburn Broken CMA use it to manage flows and quality for environmental needs.
