Last week GBCMA staff collected DNA samples from the Broken and Nine Mile Creeks. The samples have been sent to the Great Australian Wildlife Search and results should reveal which critters have been using the waterway in the past 14 days. Amazing! @GBCMA @MD_Basin_Auth

Say hello to the newly crowned 2023 Australian Bird of the Year. The critically endangered Swift Parrot. With only 750 birds left in the wild, more work is needed to protect the habitat of this remarkable parrot.

Week 1 of #NaturePact is Healthy Country Healthy People. This week we honour our catchment's Traditional Owners-the Taungurung and Yorta Yorta people. We respect how they've cared for the land for thousands of years and recognise how much we can learn from them. #NaturePact

This is a good example of a direct-seeding site. Notice the connectivity between the roadside vegetation and the hilltop. The benefits of creating these corridors include the cover they provide for small, native birds to move through the landscape.
