🌭 Hot dog at the game: $6.99 ⏳ Time spent in line: 13 min 💰Potential oppty cost With tickets averaging $7K, every minute in line means missing key plays & game-defining moments. Here’s our take on the impact of concessions lines at NFL games: tinyurl.com/46e3wbup

@PRcarly Back when I started you either called or sent a pitch letter (I know). My first call I was summarily rejected. My second call was 20 minutes and a great conversation. If I had three or four more calls just like the first one, not sure if I would have stayed in this business.

Don’t even think about thinking about getting into PR if you’re uncomfortable with rejections.

@DannyGroner Yep, that makes sense. Some founders feel like they need to get out there, or perhaps an investor or board member has told them they need to. But, there's a time and place for PR & engaging with the market. Better to have the fundamentals in place, as well as strong messaging.

@DannyGroner What were their goals/expectations in terms of Growth PR? (this of course will lead to a follow up question...)

@WillMWrites717 Honestly what I find even more off-putting is after a journo tweets a PR fail, I often see PR professionals pile on with comments in a not-so-subtle attempt to curry favor with the journalist. "Our agency would never do something like that..."

Journalists who bad mouth PRs on Twitter suck. It's like people who are rude to waiters, you are leveraging a professional power imbalance. Literally, if the best thing you can Tweet is "omg PR fail they sent me silly email" maybe you need to learn to get more hot takes. Their livelihoods often depend on being nice to you.

@inafried Oof indeed. And the lead actors for this series set in the Midwest are from Ireland and Italy. Go figure.
