@LCC700 @sohowistexas Pretty sure 5 pitchers (expected starters/relievers) with injuries benching them for nearly the entire season and two coming back after elbow injuries in the summer/fall. That is a big hit to a staff.

@sohowistexas I say again, some players have been here several years. NO IMPROVEMENT! lack of talent? I think coaching would help a bit. several pitchers and minimal improvements. Some regression actually. Did have some injuries this season but not sure would have made much difference.

Is Uhlman going to make any staff changes after a last place season? He blames the admin a lot, which is valid because they are ass You’re also the head coach regardless of the resource situation. Need to take accountability

#Tulane's lone selection on the All-American Conference first or second teams is outfielder Jason Wachs, who deservedly made the first team. He hit .327 with 54 RBIs, nine home runs and a league-best 21 doubles.

@roosta888 @BillRyan58 @GreenWaveBSB Resources and climate? Name five great Louisiana players that are willing to share an 11.7 scholarship plan and end up owing a lot of money when they complete their journey. Then, check their academic capabilities and see if they’re a fit.

@BillRyan58 Embarrassing that @GreenWaveBSB can’t have a successful, winning club given the resources and climate. The lack of local players is glaring and alarming. Instead, they rely on cosmopolitan recruiting when there is more than enough local talent.

And so an incredibly disappointing season comes to a crashing hallt for the Tulane baseball team. Despite the lack of scholarships, the expectations were still for a good season but many returning players and portal additions woefully underperformed! Whats next?

@Guersmith @easygreg33 @BillRyan58 I guess what I keep referring to and keeps throwing me off is the top 25 NIL class. To me that means something completely different than the Tulane transfer class rankings. Unfortunately, there were a lot more than that from the transfer class that were injured, wishing them well

@easygreg33 @brianmoore3295 @BillRyan58 64Analytics rated Tulane's transfer class the 16th best in the nation and the best of any mid-major school. One of the five listed key players, pitcher Owen Geiss, missed the entire year. Another, Jack Frankel, missed almost all of the conference season.

@JJGREENWAVE Great post. They could make Baseball great again if they wanted to. Everybody deserves better, the school, fans, coaches, and players. There’s no way the administration can justify throttling back a program. Open the purse strings. The top players would love a Tulane degree.

In 2018, Tulane football was an afterthought. In 2025, Tulane became the first Louisiana program to make the 12-team College Football Playoff. Same university. Same conference. Different decisions. Football: 🟢 New facilities 🟢 Real rev-share infrastructure 🟢 Top-tier coaching salary pool 🟢 Four straight American Championship Game appearances 🟢 Two American conference titles (2022, 2025) 🟢 First-ever CFP berth in program history Now look at baseball: 🟢 23 NCAA Regional appearances 🟢 Two College World Series trips BUT: 🟢 $101,000 cost of attendance 🟢 11.7 scholarships 🟢 Half the conference funds more Football is proof Tulane CAN invest. Baseball is proof Tulane WON'T. Same university. Same checkbook. Different priorities.

@Guersmith I think that it was pretty clear what you actually meant. No hard feelings at all. A great Coach once told me that there is nothing meaningless when competing, even if the outcome won’t change an outcome. The player always gains from it.

@brianmoore3295 Fair enough. I should have clarified that game was meaningless to making conference tourney. That's what I meant.

#Tulane goes out in order in 9th, loses 10-6 to Rice and will not reach the American tourney. Wave falls to sole possession of last place and has no way to move into top 8 regardless of what happens in meaningless finale tomorrow afternoon.

@brianmoore3295 They dialed it back for a bit due to some negative media coverage but the baseball team is using them again

Tulane has recruited better baseball players than UAB since forever If all that mattered for recruiting was tuition cost, Tulane would have never been any good in baseball
B Moore@brianmoore3295

@quickpitches32 One of these tuitions is not like the others. I would also venture to say that Tulane’s cost is under reported in this. Who do you think has an easier recruiting path?

@quickpitches32 I know that they are hoping to leverage them again. There are only 3 players from LA and two are in the graduate program and I believe that it is used for undergrad. I am uncertain about the third. Fans need to push for more scholarships that the NCAA has already approved.

@quickpitches32 There are still LS scholarships available down the road, no doubt, but I have looked at a list of those used and/or available and they are mostly booked and not available as readily as one may think. Most are awarded years out and not available.

We still have those Also have more NIL than most in our league
B Moore@brianmoore3295

@quickpitches32 Agree that tuition costs may not have been as big of an issue in the previous decades, but there may be some underlying issues that helped the baseball team recruit good/high quality in state players, and that was the legislative scholarships.

@quickpitches32 by the way - this is not an apologist discussion for this season. I want what you all want, for Tulane Baseball to thrive for years to come.
