@Alex_TheAnalyst Most rinks have a camera system with built in analytic tracking features called LiveBarn. Fairly affordable, it’ll track your metrics and send you a post game report.

I went to a hockey game yesterday and sat behind the people collecting the data for the team. Whenever a shot was taken, they would mark where on the ice it was taken from and who shot it and if it was on goal or not. They also tracked time of possession of the puck and penalties. I’m sure they were tracking other things, but that’s what I was able to see. It was really cool to see how they’re tracking their data even at the AA level!

@BostonGlobe I’d be curious to see more metrics on changes. This story is nicely detailed, but I remember Morrisey Blvd and the road out to Squantum flooding in the 80s.
