Forests are not just trees They are rainfall. They are livelihoods. They are climate infrastructure. Protecting them is not just and environmental issue but requires strong governance systems, clear policies, and investment-ready frameworks. 1/2

🌳 Forests sustain more than nature—they sustain economies. Today, we mark the International Day of Forests with a flag-off of a tree planting exercise under the Women Empowerment and Climate Resilience Initiative (WECRI), an initiative of the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Programme. Through this intervention, @PACE_Nigeria will be planting 6,000 trees across Chikun, Zaria, and Zango Kataf LGAs of Kaduna State, strengthening community resilience and restoring our environment. The 2026 theme, “Forests and Economies,” reminds us that forests are not just environmental assets, they are economic lifelines. Beyond contributing to national growth through timber, food, and trade, forests play a vital role at the grassroots; supporting farming, protecting water sources, and sustaining livelihoods for families and communities. Again, we are reminded that tree planting is more than climate action, it is an investment in sustainable livelihoods, resilient communities, and a thriving future. @PACE_Nigeria @DAIGlobal @UKinNigeria #WomenforClimateResilience #WomenforClimateAction #EconomicGrowthforWomen #ImprovingResilienceforWomen

🏡🌱From Risk to Resilience-Change is Happening in Zango Kataf. On Monday, the @bridge_thatgap Team under the @PACE_Nigeria Programme, of the Women Empowerment and Climate Resilience Initiative (WECRI) continued the distribution of energy-efficient cookstoves in Zango Kataf LGA, Kaduna State. For women in the rural communities of Zango Kataf, this is more than support, it’s a shift away from the daily dangers of searching for firewood. Less exposure to insecurity. More safety. More dignity. With these cookstoves, women can now cook in cleaner, safer spaces, reduce pressure on forests, and take real steps toward sustainable living.🎋 As a representative of the Agwam Bajju said: “This is real climate-action in ACTION." @DAIGlobal @UKinNigeria #WomenforClimateResilience #WomenforClimateAction #EconomicGrowthforWomen #ImprovingResilienceforWomen

🏡 Commemorating International Women's Day with Clean Cooking Options for Women On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, we flagged off the distribution of energy-efficient cookstoves to women from vulnerable and climate-affected communities in Chikun LGA, Kaduna State. This intervention is part of the Women Empowerment and Climate Resilience Initiative (WECRI) implemented by Bridge That Gap Initiative as a consortium partner under the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Programme. Through the @PACE_Nigeria Programme, 83 women in Chikun are now gaining relief from the daily burden of searching for firewood and the health and environmental risks associated with traditional cooking methods. With these improved cookstoves, women will have healthier kitchens, reduced pressure on forests, and more time to focus on productive and income-generating activities. The Member representing Chikun Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Jesse David, who was at the event described the initiative as timely and beneficial for women; noting that cleaner cooking technologies can help reduce reliance on expensive gas and address environmental challenges linked to firewood consumption. A representative from the Kaduna State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development also highlighted the importance of the intervention in supporting household welfare and small income-generating activities for women. 🌱Climate resilience begins with healthier families, and stronger livelihoods. @kdMoEnvironment @DAIGlobal @UKinNigeria #WomenforClimateResilience #WomenforClimateAction #EconomicGrowthforWomen #ImprovingResilienceforWomen

Six years into a massive tree-planting blitz, African communities are seeing real change. Restoring nearly 950 hectares of land has brought back wildlife, improved rainfall and boosted local incomes. This is #GenerationRestoration in action: ow.ly/oth150YsMbc

For years, many Nigerian households believed that food cooked with firewood tastes better. But the truth is that firewood cooking exposes families, especially women and children to harmful smoke and contributes to deforestation and environmental damage. 🌳🔥 Clean and energy-efficient cookstoves can prepare the same meals just as well without the smoke, health risks, or pressure on our forests. By switching to cleaner cooking methods, families can protect their health, save fuel costs, and support a healthier environment. 🌍💚 Let’s choose cleaner cooking for healthier homes and a safer climate. @kdMoEnvironment @PACE_Nigeria @DAIGlobal @UKinNigeria #WomenforClimateResilience #WomenforClimateAction #EconomicGrowthforWomen #ImprovingResilienceforWomen

I choose conservation over extinction. 🌍🛡️ Pangolins are among the most trafficked mammals in the world, and they need our voices now more than ever. By standing up for wildlife, we’re protecting biodiversity, strengthening ecosystems, and securing a healthier future for generations to come. Be a proud Pangolin Protector with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation @ncfnigeria. 💚 Join the movement. Speak up. Take action. Together, we can ensure pangolins thrive not just survive. 🐾✨ #PangolinProtector #ChooseConservation #ProtectWildlife #NCFNigeria #EndWildlifeTrafficking
