My Dad passed away yesterday, 56 years old He was the most caring and empathetic man I’ve ever known He chopped it up with the janitor the same way he did the CEO He cared so deeply for everybody he knew He made friends out of strangers everyday He waved to everybody He would tell everybody he saw to have a great day He hurt badly if he knew you were hurting And his worst fear was losing his loved ones I think it’s poetic that he never had to suffer through his worst fear of losing a loved one because he went first I know he’s with Jesus now and I will be with him again soon I’m going to make him so proud and make sure he is never forgotten on Earth I love you so much Dad

If the mum of a teen found dead thinks a PII in situ, can't allow full transparency during truth finding in this inquest, how can ALL the facts be disclosed? How will a final decision be a fully informed one? Do jury get to know redacted info @hilarybennmp
John O'Connor@j_oconnor37

@bridiebreen1 #JusticeForNoahDonohoe Agree. Fiona calls again for the Public Interest Immunity certification of evidence be rescinded by @hilarybennmp, to allow full public scrutiny of all evidence in the ongoing inquest. Unless this PII is removed, I doubt there'll be much truth.

@j_oconnor37 I am truly hoping and praying that she hears enough to give her answers long awaited. It doesnt bring her boy back but it might ease this intractable anguish knowing what truth there are.

#JusticeForNoahDonohoe A Mother's face below depicts the reason I support justice for Noah & shout as loudly as I can for truth for Fiona & justice for Noah. A picture paints a 1000 words which is useful on twitter. Let Fiona see all in the files. It is her humane & human right.

Coiste Chontae Thír Eoghain is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Odhrán McGirr. A proud member of Errigal Ciarán, Odhrán had a deep love for sport and embraced life with kindness, energy and joy. A caring child and a wonderful big brother to Ruairí and Saoirse, he showed extraordinary courage, strength and positivity beyond his years in the face of an unimaginably difficult illness. Only a few weeks ago, he led the Tyrone Senior Footballers onto the field in Dún Geanainn - a moment of immense pride that will live long in the memory of all those in attendance. Our heartfelt condolences are with his parents Patrick and Catriona, his brother and sister, and the entire McGirr family, as well as his friends and teammates. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Hugh Gillanders - Aodh Mac Giolla Andreis
Harry Clarke — A Light That Still Burns Born on St Patrick’s Day, 1889, in Dublin, Harry Clarke became one of Ireland’s most distinctive artistic voices — a master of stained glass whose work feels both luminous and haunting. From the radiant windows of the Honan Chapel, to the richly detailed panels in Bewley’s Café, Clarke brought colour, story, and spirituality together in ways that still stop people in their tracks. His most famous work, the Geneva Window, was deemed too provocative for its original home and now resides far from Ireland in the Wolfsonian–FIU — a reminder of both his bold imagination and the boundaries he challenged. Clarke also left his mark in ink, with haunting illustrations for Tales of Mystery and Imagination, where shadow and line carried the same intensity as his glass. He died young, in 1931, aged just 41 — but his work endures, held in places like the Hugh Lane Gallery, (unfortunately closed for a few years for refurbishment) Bewleys Grafton St. and in churches and quiet corners across Ireland. #HarryClarke

@GillSherratt23 @j_oconnor37 It's unimaginable to endure a protracted wait. If there is bi-lateral agreement between Ireland and UK for other things, surely health care should be top of list. Severe scoliosis in children is treated here in UK. Can't it be covered under that scheme?

This Mother’s Day I can’t help but reflect on Mother’s Day 2017. I had just done my first interview about Harvey and was helping to raise funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Harvey was only 14 months old at this point and the future for him looked bright. The cracks in his care were still hidden, and shortly after doing this interview is when I found out how severe his scoliosis was. In the article I say “my hopes for him are like any parent, as long as he’s happy in the quality of his life, we’re happy”, but he wasn’t afforded the quality of life or care he should have got. I finish with “Harvey has shown me what true strength is and taught me how to stand up and fight, he has shown me what it is to have unconditional love, he is my hero.” And that rings true today. Sending Mother’s Day love to all the fierce mothers who are fighting every day for their kids to get the life they deserve. I hope one day we don’t have to fight any more 💕

@MiamiShowband Doubt it S. Simply because some folk whet their appetite on a good meal and others do so on the back of other people’s pain and anguish. Warring is their way.

What did the murder of Alan’s friends at the Kingsmill Massacre or the murder of my band mates at the Miami Showband Massacre achieve? What cause did those murders ennoble? Who benefits from the bloodshed? Was it worth it in the end? Will the world ever learn the futility of war?

I know many won’t care, but it matters to me. 1,389 days sober today. Because I know what the other side looks like. Hospitals. Handcuffs. Seizures. Overdoses. Secure mental health units. Nights where my own mind was trying to destroy me.

Today is the 2nd anniversary of my son's passing by suicide. Luke was my only child, he was about to turn 23 that year, instead I received a phone call saying he was gone. A phone call no parent should receive. I am tormented, everyday is a repeat of what happened and why. Not knowing what the factors were, I questioned my Role as Luke's Dad, and I blame myself for his death everyday. Hug your kids today, tell them you love them, because we never know when it may be the last time we can. I miss you Luke, love always, Dad❤️❤️❤️ 2001 - 2024 RIP 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Remember that short film competition I entered with my script I adapted from my play? Well, our team won and now i can add screenwriter to my CV and also my first acting credit. Wait till you see the cast.👀 I cannot begin to tell you what the opportunity means to me and how it will be a catalyst for my career in filmmaking. Thanks a million to Ardán and RTE for this. Tonight, I perform The Dead House play for the first time in Czechia.
