Did you know that PersistentModels are non-Sendable in SwiftData? Luckily there's a safe way to pass references to models. brightdigit.com/tutorials/swif…

So last week our microwave died. We've had our fair share of appliance failures. This was hardly the worst. We've had ovens, dishwashers, washing machines fail which was awful but without the microwave we can get by. That's what made me think - Microwaves are like AI... When microwaves were first released people thought that they were going to revolutionize cooking but that's not been the case. Microwaves help with quickly reheating certain foods. However we still have an oven, toaster oven, etc... to help in some cases. AI helps with certain tasks. It makes it much quicker and easier to get started. But it's not a good fit for others. There are "cookbooks" for AI prompts which are helpful but it's not great for a whole meal. This is measured way to look at AI right now. Some people are paranoid of Microwaves and AI.
It's easy to prepare some things with Microwaves and AI. You can live without Microwaves and AI but you'd prefer to have them. No HAL. No Revolution. Just another tool in the kitchen.

What are some challenges iOS developers face when trying out server-side Swift? @AdeOlusunmad and I had a really good discussion on those differences and what would help developers get started. brightdigit.com/episodes/189-f…
