@TheFerrariLab The second best time is when someone shit talks Taylor Swift, apparently.

LeBron would of went 6-0 vs a bunch of janitors and librarians too.

I don’t think people understand how crazy it is to be 6-0 in the NBA finals.

@Saboo_Shubham_ Yeah this is a waste of time. It can basically give you a link to a template and you have to customize it yourself in Canva...

@StatModeling Indeed! I had gpt4 translate some complex jags code to Stan this week and it did it perfectly after I explicitly defined each variable. Amazing time saver!

@Tjonesonthenba This shows major disrespect for the culture in Utah. Shame on the NBA.

@rnsoicher I don't think it makes sense to use a paired t test since these students aren't paired. If you had samples of multiple classes, you could use a mixed effects model or something to account for within class correlation but in this case the independent test makes sense to me.
English

@brintzbe It is a full class, half of which are randomly assigned to one condition (the other half to another). Assuming the class is a sample of undergrad and grad psych students.
English

@rnsoicher Hey! I see, I guess I'd agree that the output of the t test from a statistical software is more informative. Regarding dependence/independence, are you just comparing a full class that's split into two groups? Are you assuming the class is a sample of some larger pseudopop?
English

@brintzbe Ben! That's what I said! But for reporting in a paper, aren't the t-test results more informative (inc. mean difference and confidence interval, rather than only the f-stat and p-value)? Also, what's your thought on my independent v. dependent question? :)

I know everyone is complaining about the snow, but I'm over here on team winter. After work ski touring while its still light out is everything to me.

@rlbarter I'm using quarto for a couple of papers and I love it... But I'm bad at it!
English

Tomorrow morning I'm going to delete my old hugo/blogdown blog and replace it with my new quarto one. Here's hoping that I don't mess it up somehow🤞
Advance apologies to anyone whose blog reading gets disrupted during the shift.
Side note: holy cow #quarto is so amazing!
