@luvshin_ @P_C400 the kind of "pattern recognition" you need for osu is completely different from the pattern recognition that is correlated with iq. osu patterns are purely about how fast your brain can parse a bunch of sequential notes in a few hundred milliseconds

@ogniar @P_C400 so you think that talent isn’t real except for like the top 10 players? how does that make sense in any way? talent should be somewhat normally distributed, your average top 10000 player will be less talented than your top 100 player etc

@briskeste @P_C400 Hardstuck people just don't care/don't know how to practice effectively. Outside of a few EXTREME edge cases of talent(zoink might be the only person like that in gd history), talent isn't really a thing. Unless you also count motivation as talent

@P_C400 mindset and grinding correctly are definitely factors, but you are still capped by your genetics. why aren’t you top 100? many top 100 players didn’t have to play for 8 hours a day, or even consciously optimize their mindset, they are just naturally better.

@P_C400 like isn’t it odd that mrekk is able to get to a top level at so many games (osu/gd/valo/tetris) with much lower playtime than average? no “improvement mindset” will let you overcome your genetics
