Reporting back from the axial PsA workshop on 1. Who to screen? 2. How to classify axial PsA? 3. How do we measure disease activity?

@uk_biobank This work funded by a @BritPact research grant has led to an ACF post @ndorms and is supporting plans for a PhD fellowship application.

@OfficialUoM This initial work funded by @BritPact has now been developed into a £300k MRC study!

Ryan Hum from @OfficialUoM presenting his work funded by a @BritPact Research Grant looking at cells within arthritic joints to understand what is causing disease.

Preliminary data on PsARC response shows similar OR for 2nd to 7th line therapy. Further modelling underway to adjust for baseline differences. This supports further access to sequential lines of therapy.

Use of sequential biologics is common across the UK but 83% of centres had restrictions on biologic use and 25% had restrictions on number of drugs (2, 4 or 5 therapies per patient)

Highlighting ongoing research in axial SpA with the @NIHRresearch funded IDEAL study.

And now Professor Jon Packham presenting further research in axial SpA and highlighting research gaps particularly in axial PsA.

A digital public awareness campaign to help identify axial SpA and encourage people to approach their GP. 73% of people completed the survey in NI and met referral criteria.

Recent data from @NASSexercise shows that the delay in diagnosis is still over 8 years with a big delay in referral from primary care to rheumatology.
