“The BBC is, in fact, culturally conservative on many issues—on economics, on the monarchy, on immigration, on poverty & benefits.” Arsonists cosplaying as fire fighters: Why the right-wing war on the BBC is succeeding - @brokenbottleboy open.substack.com/pub/brokenbott…

I'm struggling to think of a worse, more unnecessary hill for any government to choose to die on. One million people have already signed a petition against ID cards. If we’re serious about rebuilding trust, this is the last place to start. It's like deciding to become a pacifist and then walking into your roughest local pub and knocking everyone's pints out of their hands. It's actually mind boggling.

We might be an absolute shower in all sorts of ways. But we really, really hate the idea of ID cards in this country, and I think that's beautiful.

Thought of this piece by @brokenbottleboy today as @bbcnickrobinson introd'ed @BellRibeiroAddy by her X profile descrition on #r4today Less like objective journalism, more a not so subtle setting the tone for the interview 🤔🧐 Socialist, anti-racist, feminist 👏🙌

Thanks @brokenbottleboy for this One for #r4today listeners & @bbcnickrobinson Today it's Angela Rayner although it never seems to be scrutinising Nigel Farrage 🤔 political media journalists, neutrality? 🤔🤨 open.substack.com/pub/brokenbott…

Yes, AI requires an absolutely massive amount of energy, but you have to keep this in perspective. It also generates terrible images and the worst writing you’ve ever read. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
