@HMIProbation We need to find a way to harmonise desistance + public protection work much more. Public protection is full of labels, categories, stigma and very limited signs of hope! Obvs just as important to manage risk, but it would be good to see D playing a greater part in that?!

People undertaking Community Payback hours can make a huge difference to local communities, whilst repaying for their own behaviour. Learning skills too which hopefully they can take forward positively. Some great work being done across the North East and nationally. 👍🏼👍🏼

People on Probation working at The Mission Church in Stockton have been loom-knitting hats for adults and babies to be donated to Homeless Shelters and the hospital. It takes on average 3 hours to complete one hat. #CommunityPayback #ProbationNorthEast

This is a great project in the middle of Saltburn where a fabulous bunch of volunteers run this great little railway, which is used by 100s people every year. Go @NEPS_Payback #excellentcommunitysupport 💥💥💥

We're over the moon to have won the 'Quirkiest Project' award for Saltburn Miniature Railway at the CP50 awards! Since 2015 we've helped the volunteers at SMR paint fences, replace rotting sleepers, put up flag poles, & strim the area. #CommunityPayback #ProbationNorthEast
