“got trapper of the year 4 times in a row”
Yesterday marked the anniversary of my father’s passing, and it was an emotional yet heartwarming experience. As an Orlando Magic fan, I’m reminded of a special moment from 1990 when my father took me to a game during the @OrlandoMagic inaugural season. Despite our financial constraints, he managed to secure two tickets to the worst team outside of the Magic that year. We were fortunate enough to sit in the very top row of the O-Rena. In that moment, none of the circumstances mattered. I was filled with excitement, and we ended up winning the game. It was undoubtedly one of the top five moments of my childhood. Fast forward to 2012, and I had the privilege of taking my father to another Magic game on Christmas. This time, we were seated in the front row on the court. It was a remarkable journey from the worst to the first seat selection, and it was the proudest moment of my life to share this experience with him. The Magic won that game as well. When asked if he had enjoyed himself, my father’s only response was, “Do you think we looked cool down there on the court?” To which I replied, “Yes, Dad! I thought we looked like the coolest!” I love and miss you dearly. And as always, Go Magic!
