The Three Rivers bike racks have held a special place in pittsburgher's hearts for more than 20 years. And while the modernized square might seem new, I hope these small details make pittsburghers feel like the square is very much still our own unique public space.

Honored to be the first bike parked in new market square. We saved the original seven Three Rivers bike racks from the 2009 redesign, and integrated them more prominently at the "gateways" into the 2026 modernized square.
