@Matt_Rodewald Not sure why I’m apologizing. It’s a fact they won 15 of 17 to close the season and beat some decent teams. I literally said they struggle scoring. I also sent the 2nd tweet almost immediately after my first response to you.

@Matt_Rodewald Tell that to 15 of the last 17 teams Batavia has played (and beaten), including Glenbard North, Geneva, and WWS. I’ve been to most of their games and yes, there are times when they struggle to score, but their defense has been VERY good (opps have gotten to 50 only 6 times…)

Ref looks like he blows his whistle because the player in the black shirt has made his way across the court to celebrate w/his teammates on a non-dead ball. Nothing to be done, but interesting discussion.

Finish was not without controversy as Cardinal bench players spilled out onto the floor after the go ahead bucket with time still on the clock. Referees reviewed the footage (extensively) and ended up not calling a technical. Would be curious to have heard the explanation.

@Matt_Rodewald And also, I’m not predicting they’ll win the sectional. It’ll be a tough first game, then WWS for the 3rd time, then more tough games… Will not be easy, but they’ve been playing better the second half of the season.

@Matt_Rodewald Want to see it more! Used in the Ken Peddy Thanksgiving tournament in Batavia and I thought it made for a more exciting game than the non-tournament varsity game I went to last night which ended 49-47 in OT. Higher scores w/clock and seemed like more action.

Keep an eye on how often you see the shot clock being used this year. I’ve reffed 10 varsity games so far this season. (b/g) Yet to see it once.
