@MegKeene@Bushra1Shaikh There we go……..I am opposed to slaughter and starvation in any context, and your response is to try to slur me with a word. Mine is a simple plea to stop killing women and children. What is yours?
The irony of who is committing genocide upon whom must be obvious even to you?
I've just turned my phone on after Yom Kippur, when like many British Jews I go out of digital contact. I've just felt a visceral shock of such terrible news. My thoughts and prayers with all affected in Manchester. We cannot allow division and hatred to rule. I'm proudly British, my family have been in the UK for many generations. I believe this is one of the great tolerant societies that revels in, and should be proud of, freedom of worship for all, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and more. These individuals seeking to divide us will not win. We must not let them.
The Home Secretary says protests yesterday about Israels actions were fundamentally unBritish & dishonourable
You know whats dishonourable @ShabanaMahmood? The UK govt saying nothing when a UK vessel is attacked & seized in intl waters & the people on board are kidnapped
@zarahsultana I’m anti-murder, anti-slaughter and anti-starvation. If that makes me appear anti- a particular state, then that’s for others to consider
You can protest against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and unequivocally condemn the antisemitic terror attack in Manchester.
Don’t let politicians or the media tell you that you can’t do both.
@Bushra1Shaikh IT IS A WAR. A DEFENSIVE WAR WE DIDN’T START. Hamas didn’t take a break, they fired rockets at civilians. If ONLY we could have taken the day off and let our solders observe the most sacred day of the year. But it’s not UP TO US.
🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer appeals to those planning to attend Gaza protests:
"I urge anyone thinking about protesting this weekend to recognise and respect the grief of British Jews this week. This is a moment of mourning. It is not a time to stoke tension and cause further pain"
What can we do? What can ordinary British people - in particular non-Jews like me - do to stop this hateful anti-semitic stain on our country?
It's not enough to post tweets or donate to security for synagogues.
How do we show not just our support for our fellow Jewish citizens but also our refusal to tolerate the anti-semites on our streets? All ideas welcome.
Staying silent and doing nothing just aren't options anymore.
@DPJHodges@Citizen_O_World I think the challenge is rationalising the mass sorrow over the appalling deaths of 2 Jews versus the general indifference to the slaughter of thousands of innocent Palestinians. Both are victims of the Israeli govt and the IDF
I am genuinely staggered. Yesterday we saw Jews murdered outside their place of worship. Following those murders mobs took to the streets calling for the death of Jews and eradication of the only Jewish state. They are coming again. And the Home Secretary says she is powerless.
@strangerous10 No, Paterson is saying what the Australian government should be saying. The flotilla organisers have been proven to be allies of Hamas . Greta and her mob of myopic supporters are Hamas' 'useful idiots'.
The war will end as soon as Hamas returns the hostages & disarms.
James Paterson has taken a swipe at Australians onboard a flotilla heading to Gaza with aid saying it’s a “reckless” mission aimed at trying to “manufacture a clash with the IDF”
Paterson stands with Israel against our Aussie humanitarians. Paterson is a traitor to Australia.
