@NHLPlayerSafety @NHL #NHLBruins So let me get this right a high stick is a 2 minute penalty and if it causes an injury it is a double minor. An illegal check to the head is a 2minute If it sends a player down the tunnel it stays a 2 minute?!!!. Shouldn’t the rule follow the standards of high sticking. If a illegal check to the head sends a player down the tunnel or spotter protocol. It should automatically be a double minor as well Or 5 minute major. Maybe there should be a rule change cause an illegal check to head being called a 2 min like it’s a tripping call. One as little risk to long term damage one can cause lasting harm to a players future way of life. Illegal check to the head should be an auto double minor or 5 minute major. Charlie had a bubble which properly prevented a more severe injury but just cause a player has a bubble it doesn’t take away the danger of the play. Player left his feet leading with elbow if that’s not intent idk what is , he was never trying to land a clean hit.

I think it’s more the team lacks offensive talent and players with offensive creativity. Will turnovers and errors happen yes but we will see a lot more chances generated as well. If the extra chances generated can give you two goals and turnover and errors lead to 1 goal against your still up 1. Hate people saying he’s developing in the Ahl cause nothing good has generated out of Boston. It’s legit an offensive talent killer

Lots of Hagens talk. I keep seeing "Don't expect him to change everything" but does anyone actually think he would? I think it's more people see this team score one goal a game in separate one-goal games and go "Huh, maybe that consensus top 10 prospect in hockey might help".

@DrTBagger Agree. From what I’ve seen watching him all season I really do think it’s not a stretch to say he’s the rare type of player where this is the case. He has the tools where his game rises to the occasion. And if you have a 30+ goal scorer who hasn’t scored in 17 gms what’s the risk

Confusing to see some fans/media still tripping over themselves to defend Bruins (likely) decision to not sign Hagens until next year. “Reichel! AHL playoffs! Don’t burn a year! Don’t rush him!” I’ve watched every game start to finish..He’s no less “NHL ready” than Porter Martone

The bruins approach the development is a joke. I understand some prospects need ahl to develop. But Hagens is the type of talent you let grow and learn at the high level. I still believe he would give a tremendous boost to pasta offensively pasta has been flat these last couple games. Many of those teams you mention in the playoffs specially the new monsters of the Atlantic buffalo and Montreal always have their high talent prospect start in the nhl only their mid to low level prospects are in the AHL.

Agree with what Robert is saying here in terms of how BOS is viewing this. And because we know how the Bruins tend to think about and approach development - I would be surprised if they call him up this year barring a major injury. But make no mistake, while further seasoning in the Calder Cup playoffs can be beneficial, sure - Hagens has the speed, skill and smarts to be playing NHL games right now while simultaneously learning and developing at the highest level. He obviously wouldn't be a finished product upon signing an ELC- that's okay - no one is. I'll also say this - BOS can CLEARLY use his talent right now and while the Bruins aren't cup contenders this year, the organization shouldn't take *potentially qualifying this year for granted. Florida will be back in the playoffs next year provided healthy, so will Tampa and probably Montreal. Buffalo very well could be back. Bruins, Senators, Red Wings, Toronto will be a cluster *puck. Let alone the Metro wild card teams. If you can ice your best roster come NHL playoff time, imo, you do it. Tell me Eyssimont, Steeves, Reichel > Hagens right now i'd have to disagree. Bruins being back in the playoffs next year would be anything but guaranteed. Just my 2 cents.

Andre gasseau will hold off and test the market , he’s at an age where he’s looking at the bruins roster doesn’t see a fit for himself and sees the way other NCAA players just got stuck in the Ahl with bruins organization. I don’t blame those players for wanting to go to teams where they have chances to get called up

This is one of the worst backchecks in NHL history by 71 teal. There's so many little details to his game that he's lacking right now. They're going to continue to lose hockey games if that's how he's playing. That is pond hockey.

Would be dumb decision to spend it all on free agency sometimes you need to keep some room plus with the cap increase the free agent market isn’t great since most teams can resign their guys now. Gotta also think long term zacha will be up for a contract after next season , if Hagens does play this year he will be up in at the end of 28 season so you have to also plan alittle a head

I would assume by his performance thus far Lukas Reichel has the inside track on scooping up a middle-6 role with the hope he gives you what Viktor Arvidsson has given you production-wise Still wonder what they do with Casey Mittelstadt and whether Arvidsson tests FA (very likely) Does Boston sign a vet on a 1yr deal at cheap $$ like a Jack Roslovic or Connor Dewar to keep the seat warm? I’d personally just keep Mittelstadt for insurance and reevaluate at next year’s deadline over signing vets.
