No, this isn’t me although it may fit my alter ego. This is the one & only Mark Parrish, a @McDonalds franchisee in Utah. He dropped his own rap music video for the new 🥤 lineup. I nominate it for a McGrammy.

@McFranchisee @Tesla @elonmusk @waze @GasBuddy @McDonalds Agreed its a cool option and definitely needs to be integrated into the OS for it to work well as the Apple and Android auto versions in navigation are still pretty hard to use for discovery. Elon has over time appeared allergic to ad revenue. See Twitter acquisition.
English

At what point does @Tesla and @elonmusk start monetizing FSD with marketing dollars? 💡
A whole new revenue stream.
Just like @waze or @GasBuddy (pic below), where businesses pay to pop up along your route.
Imagine this: you’re cruising on FSD and a @McDonalds appears on your screen - “Want to make a quick pit stop?” 🍟
That’s a win for Tesla, the driver, and the business.

@McFranchisee @krispykreme @McDonalds @Cinnabon Gotta go with a cake donut style IMO for longer shelf life if made externally. Every second KK sits outside of the grease it gets exponentially worse.
English

Very interesting.
Almost a month ago @krispykreme paused any further rollout locations at @McDonalds. It was random and out of the blue. No explanation or timeline.
If KK drops out, let’s partner w @Cinnabon or create something in-house.

Krispy Kreme said that "demand dropped below our expectations" after the initial marketing launch of its McDonald's partnership. Compay working to increase sales but is also trying to streamline operations. Sales are below expectations. $DNUT $MCD

@realdogeusa USPS. Can't believe this still exists the same as it did decades ago.

@jamestalarico But I can get my money back from property taxes then if I don't use the public schools right?

@herrmanndigital @Target @Walmart Hispanic mobility appears down as well due to immigration concerns. Shift some focus to delivery offers with proper targeting?
English

So @Target is now saying February was a slower than usual month for them, essentially down YoY.
Last week @Walmart and E.L.F. Beauty said similar remarks.
They blamed economic uncertainty and tariffs as the main reasons.
I do believe that the DTC community tends to ignore these types of comments but if Target and Walmart, two of the biggest retailers in the country are saying it, why won't some of you consider that it isn't Meta or your agency or your creative.
I'm not trying to be negative but it is shocking to me the amount of brands firing their teams, switching agencies, etc etc.
Here's my advice: if your team has shown success time and time again and that more recently things have become difficult, don't just assume it's them.
So what should one do in an economic uncertain season? To me, this is the question the marketing podcasts should talk about.
1. Easiest is more bundling, more free gifts, more things the consumer can "get" with your products. Yes, it hurts margin, but find ways to not make it hurt.
2. Continue to iterate on product messaging and deeply understand your consumer and where they are. If your audience is primarily say a young parent, understand that it's often between your product and a necessity. So speak into that.
3. Payment plans. I hate this one, I hate forcing people into more debt but alas, it's there.
4. Honestly the one where I'm most likely moving, up market. Making your brand more premium. Making your ads higher quality. Essentially going after the market that doesn't feel this pain, rich people. Is it going to cost more to hit them? Yes. But to me leaning into higher quality production, running ads to higher AOV products and only those products is a likely choice for many of you.
This doesn't always apply to everyone. But it is something to really be thinking about right now with just so much insane uncertainty going on.
How are you handling it?

Just want to shoutout my Pinterest reps.
They go the extra mile or 300 miles daily for my clients spending on the platform.
A few times this year already they jumped in to make a change for me when I was unable to get to it quickly.
Just always so impressed with them flying to meet me for strategy sessions in my town knowing how busy I am.
This is a love letter to them on this Valentine’s Day. 👌

@ChuckGarfien @CHSN__ You do great work Chuck, thx! I'm curious on how a RSN thinks strategically about base tier vs premium sports tier on carriage deals balancing distribution scale vs distribution profitability.
English

I’m having @CHSN__ president Jason Coyle on the podcast. He’s taking your questions. Whatever’s on your mind about distribution, Comcast, broadcasts, shows, etc. The pod drops Thursday. Leave your questions here.
