Anyone calling Netizens “just” a milady derivative fails to understand what milady really is and how strong its influence has been to the entire neo art sphere. Its amusing to see how people are convinced to be immune, how they don’t realize Remilia is already in their posts, in their visuals, in the attitude they’re trying to convey. I want to make sure you know I am not offended by the tag you’re putting on my work at all, in fact Milady is way more than a mere inspiration to me, it’s been a catalyst for my art and the reason that pushed me to experiment and grow. When I sketched this, I wasn’t looking at milady for reference and I didn’t have the intention of replicating it either. Its just that I have it in me, and I love when it resurfaces in what I do. Milady has transcended its original form, and its everywhere I look. It’s my cultural legacy. If you want to call my project a milady derivative I’m happy with it.
