I found this old pic of Creepy and Gnome celebrating their opening stand of 3 runs against the colonial criminals touring team of Ashtrayan bushranger/cricketers in 1888. Cmon England. #Ashes2023

"Get him. Else we will be stuck all day!" Farokh Engineer takes off behind the stumps in anticipation, but Boycott has got one past a diving bowler (who be it?). Yorkshire vs Lancashire, 1970 at Old Trafford. What a shot. The players, the crowd, the game...Boycott got 98!

Ian Bell said, "I have no issue with the decision to give Bairstow out. The rules are clear. It was out. What is a shame for Australians is that this win will be remembered for this incident, rather than the impressive cricket they played when conditions were against them".

Whether it’s Trevor Chappell bowling underarm to deny New Zealand a chance, or Mitchell Johnson bowling overarm to deny Jonathan Trott a career, Australia has always chosen the path of hatred.

You won't read a better take on all this, than Ben's. Brilliant from @HartWexford on @TheRoarSports today: "The stump microphone at this point clearly picks up the sound of sinister laughter and Carey shouting in nasal glee, “Time to cheat, boys!”" theroar.com.au/2023/07/04/the…

@beastieboy07 He’s acting as a spotter for Jonny Bairstow, letting him know if he wanders out of his crease.

@tickerscricket It’s been telling that the worst of the worst people in the UK all have some weird issue with a cricket action. All normal people in the UK seem nonplussed

@bbctms Can we still pick some of these for Leeds? Those Aussies are all big Sheilas anyway.

@ESPNcricinfo Foakes in the squad. Carey will never have to worry about his job or anything now he has been gifted Tasmania by a grateful nation.

@SteveSladl And it got even worse after Governor General Sir John Kerr, wearing a Harlequin Cap no less, sacked Gough Whitlam in his study at Yarralumla in 1975.

Don Bradman has his middle stump sent flying by a yorker from Bill Bowes during the 4th Test at Leeds, July 23rd 1938. He had scored 103 at the time and even thought this was almost three months into the tour it was only the second time he had been bowled

@PictureSporting @RabidRobo Grimmett dismissed Bradman more than any others. Equal to Verity in Ist class but Grimmett got him in some benefit games played in the same club, state and national team for a lot of time and bowled thousands of deliveries including his four different flippers to knock him over.

@RabidRobo Bowes dismissed him five times in Tests, one fewer than Bedser and three behind Verity who removed him more than any other bowler. Larwood and Tate also had him five times. In all, 18 bowlers dismissed him more than once
