We built a product from scratch… and this is just the beginning. A couple of friends and I built FieldScope as our capstone project during a Dev and Design bootcamp with Joseph Brendan ( this guy is awesome, will share about this later) What started as an idea… quickly turned into a real product. Late nights. Tough decisions. Figuring things out as we went. Not perfect — but real. And that’s what matters. Because building with a team teaches you things no tutorial ever will: How to align ideas How to handle trade-offs How to ship under pressure You don’t really understand product… until you build one. Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing how we: Approached the idea Designed the experience Built the product Navigated challenges No fluff. Just the real process. If you’re building (or planning to), follow along — this might save you weeks of mistakes. #BuildInPublic #ProductDesign #Developers #Startups #LearningInPublic

Living in the moment isn't a lofty ideal reserved for the Zen and enlightened; it's the only way to live a life that isn't infiltrated with illusions. It's the only thing your brain can actually comprehend.

We forget that everything is transitory, and no one single instance can summarize the whole. There is nowhere to "arrive" to. The only thing you're rushing toward is death. Accomplishing goals is not success.
How much you expand in the process is.

@bryanbenibo Nice work on shipping something real. The team stuff is harder than the actual coding most of the time

The issue with us (Nigerians) is our tendency to get emotional about everything. We’re a very emotional people in an environment with low trust. While Moniepoint might have a hiring problem and its pay may not be globally competitive, it’s also possible our talent education system is simply very poor and undeveloped. Both employers and employee need to do better.
Princewill@ThePakuma

Both Tosin of Moniepoint and Bayo of Wakanow have shared their challenges finding employable talent. Even at Founders connect an event a few years ago. He was open to receiving CVs and this was before they got approved to operate in the UK.

Anyone that has built or hired at scale understands the point Tosin of Moniepoint is trying to make. Finding one person is different from when you need 50 in a short while. And no, you cannot pass arround the same developers. Let's leave tech. Can you find great plumbers, mechanics, electricians in Nigeria? At scale? If you you want to repair a Mercedes with a complex problem in Lagos (10 million people) you'd be given the same 5 names. 3 would be those doing side waka from Coscharis. For Lekki Bridge, they imported people cos they could not find the 10 or so deep sea welders in Nigeria. Some skills take years to build and require systems. We are not talking tying gele, doing drop shipping. A global company competing no dey find who go "run am". There is a place for interns etc. But those are not the person that will build the company. We lied to ourselves that population = asset is where our problem stated. Nigeria has many problems and Tosin is not one of them. Go elsewhere and look for who will massage ya egos.

Moonshot is back at the National Theatre this October, and I’m genuinely excited about what this means for African tech. The right people + the right room can change the trajectory of a founder, a product, even an ecosystem. Early bird tickets are live. If you’re serious about building for this continent, this is one room you don’t want to be outside of. 🚀 #Moonshot2026 #MoonshotbyTechCabal

The biggest lie in modern development: “Just start building.” That advice works… until your app hits real users. Then everything breaks. Real builders do this first: → PRD → Architecture → Rules → Skills → Workflows Then code. Not the other way around. #SoftwareEngineering #AI #Startups #BuildInPublic

AI can generate UI in seconds. It cannot generate judgment. That’s still your job.
