@SneakerBae Jordan 1 home in 1986. Mom had a strict $20 limit for kicks and they were $65 (my brother got the aways for $40 because he wore a 6 and I was a 7). Mowed yards and weeded flower beds for 6 weeks to get them. Have never had another pair of the home highs.

I want Jordan Brand to slow down. We should have gotten more AJ2 High’s. They quickly gave us the low and collabs and the 2/3 and moved back to 4’s.

Definitely a polarizing sneaker. For me, growing up in a smaller Texas town, a black kid liking both hip hop and skate was considered “weird”. This shoe merged both those worlds and gave me a sense of “cool” when others didn’t get it.

@KariDaniels I have to admit - I have a pair of Kickwho Kobe grinch reps. I have my real grinches but didn’t want to destroy them on court so I bought a really good (plays as good) pair. Never try to pass as real but haven’t been asked either

You can love the sneakers, culture & community & also buy a rep. The definition of a sneakerhead remains impossibly subjective because people keep tying it to commerce.
