Christopher Nolan explains his choice to cast Travis Scott in ‘The Odyssey.’ “I cast him because I wanted to nod towards the idea that this story has been handed down as oral poetry, which is analogous to rap” (time.com/article/2026/0…)

🚨🇺🇸 Border wall construction in Arizona just bulldozed a 1,000-year-old Native American site that researchers say is irreplaceable... Crews working on the $46.5 billion expansion ran heavy machinery through a ground etching known as an intaglio, a 200-foot-long fish shape carved into the desert by Indigenous peoples more than a millennium ago. Roughly 60 to 70 feet of the etching was destroyed in a single pass. Satellite imagery from April 24 confirms the damage. The site sits inside the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, where a CBP contractor has been working for weeks on a second parallel wall. The Department of Homeland Security has issued waivers exempting border wall construction from the environmental and cultural protection laws that normally require extensive study before any project of this kind moves forward. The retired archaeologist who originally documented the intaglio in 2002 said stakes had been driven through the etching marking the path of the wall, but no tire tracks led up to them, meaning whoever placed them knew enough to walk in carefully and avoid driving over it. Then the bulldozers came anyway. The border wall expansion is moving at three miles per week. Illegal crossings have already fallen to historic lows. The cultural cost of building faster than the law allows is now showing up in the desert, and once an artifact like this is gone, no budget can put it back. Source: Washington Post

🚨☎️⛳️ JUST IN — Golf Digest reports that multiple LIV Golfers have begun reaching out to the PGA Tour to explore their pathways back — but conditions for such returns will come with significantly more restriction than what Brooks Koepka faced and the Patrick Reed 1-year pathway may not exist. Additional notes: — LIV players seeking return are expected to be grouped into categories including those who sued the Tour expected to face even more severe scrutiny. — Sources say Bryson DeChambeau feels that LIV has “undelivered” on its initial vision [via @JoelMBeall / @GolfDigest]

@gunpolicy @Shadzey1 Thank you @gunpolicy for doing the work, but it sure would be nice if we would stop letting regulations dictate the law. If it’s not explicitly written in the law, it should be thrown own. Just throw out the entirety of 20th century precedent and govern by the constitution.

Wisconsin getting $14.6M/year is “controversial,” but nobody blinks at the PUF funneling hundreds of millions from West Texas land to Texas & Texas A&M every year. Interesting
College Transfer Portal@CollegeFBPortal

NEW: Wisconsin athletics will now receive $14.6M annually from the state. This new law recognizes Wisconsin Athletics' role as an “economic engine for the state.” Should taxpayers fund NIL checks for college athletes? 🤯

Japanese bros keep posting about sausage gravy so here’s the easiest classic recipe. It’s only 4 ingredients: - country sausage - flour - milk - pepper Brown the sausage, don’t drain. Pour flower over sausage and stir until grease is absorbed. Pour milk over sausage. Season with black pepper. Cook for a couple minutes and add more milk until desired thickness. Easy day.

Feminism has not made women smarter, happier, or more successful. It has more or less made women into depressed and defective men, competing on a playing field they weren't made for—where the ultimate prize turns out to be misery. It is truly cruel. But it gets worse: In addition to this cruelty, it has crippled marketplaces and political spaces. Women cannot compete in these spaces on overall merit—they weren't designed to—and so they had to create and leverage unnatural and ad-hoc rules to micromanage those spaces into spaces they could control. As a result, marketplaces and political spaces become less productive, less innovative, and ultimately bent towards bureaucratically oppressed HR hellscapes. The problem is that these kinds of things don't work in an absolute sense, only a relative sense. Here's what I mean: A military managed this way loses its war-fighting ability. It cannot compete against a military not playing DEI games. Therefore it will ultimately be conquered, revealing why politics was a traditionally male space in the first place: Because it was the men who would have to fight the war that results if the peaceful political process fails.

Massive win for Texas Tech. The Red Raiders move to 6-1 in Big 12 play, and now have wins over Duke, Houston and BYU. Still not even fully healthy. This team continues to get better.
