S&P Dow Jones just licensed the S&P 500 to Hyperliquid, via Trade[XYZ]. ... here's what it actually means: Trade[XYZ] is launching perpetual derivative contracts on Hyperliquid that let you go long or short the American stock market with leverage, 24/7, even when the NYSE is closed. That's not a small thing. Traditional S&P 500 access comes with three barriers: 1. You need a brokerage account. 2. You need to trade during market hours (9:30am-4pm ET, weekdays). 3. In most cases you need to be American or have access to US markets. This cuts through all three. A trader in Southeast Asia can now bet on the S&P 500 at 3am on a Sunday. With leverage. On a decentralized exchange. No signup. No broker. No waiting for Monday. The instrument doing this is a perpetual swap - the same product that put Hyperliquid on the map for crypto. Now it's been applied to the most tracked stock index on earth. The S&P 500 is worth ~$60T. It's the benchmark that every pension fund, ETF, and retail investor uses to measure performance.
