Twitter, solve this 7 year mystery for me. Left pic is my driveway. We planted crepe myrtles along both sides 7 years ago, hoping they'd grow & look like the pic on the right (Dallas Arboretum). But the ones on the left side of the driveway DO. NOT. GROW! You can barely see them in the pic! The ones on the right grow beautifully. Why? It's not the sprinkler zones. Over the years we've tried so much, including: Only watering the ones on the left & not the right Only feeding the ones on the left Trimming them strategically Is it the soil? This was simply a raw piece of land before we built, and there shouldn't a difference in the soil quality on either side of the driveway. The sun exposure is the same. What is it??
