Clerk is hiring BUILDERS!! As everyone knows, this current era of llm-assisted building is absolutely wild. The best people to take advantage of this are not coders, but people who want to build something great. Coding has always been just a means to an end, and the building game has changed. Clerk has the absolute best foundation to build the next generation of builder tools, we're just getting started. Reach out now! Likewise, if you want to help build the foundation and infrastructure for a globally scalable product, care deeply about 5 nines and can root out any issues that may be lurking behind the scenes, definitely reach out Back Builders Building Better Businesses.

Appreciate the feedback. We want to win over folks like you, but clearly still have a hill to climb. Pricing is hard with balancing a business so that we can invest more into the product. We do have cool stuff coming out this year, and we think we’ll be able to move more things into the “free” tier as they launch.

@bsinthewild I try in small apps for my YouTube channel, but didn't like the pricing nor the dependencies for small projects mlv.sh/youtube but I love tech and I am happy that some people, big companies see the value and power you give them

Just deep dive on the Clerk pricing and this is literally a predatory SCAM for YC Founders: 1. B2B organization is limited to 100 and then $1/organization 🤯 2. Impersonated user is limited to 5/month and you need to pay $100/month just to impersonate users 3. Billing is literally 0.7% fees for a thing Claude Code can literally one-shot

If you start an app now, please don't use: 1. Supabase = you will regret it. → use Convex, Neon, Better-Auth instead 2. Clerk = this is the worst choice ever → use Better-Auth instead 3. Supabase Storage or AWS S3 → use Cloudflare R2, this is the cheapest you can have 4. Namecheap: laggy, buggy, boring → use Porkbun or Cloudflare 5. MongoDB = just don't

@melvynx Curious, did you try the product or were you fully scared off by pricing?

Yeah I don’t feel like engaging with your rage bait, it was shitty though. “Predatory scam” are big words to claim and complete lies. We’re just out here trying to make it easier to build great apps. Curious, have you tried the product or were you just fully scared off by the pricing? The tricky thing about pricing for auth is everyone assumes they’re gonna go to the moon, and looks at costs for 1M MAUs, which if you get to great, but at that point you’re going to be spending a lot on all your infra but people don’t realize that for whatever reason. I wish there was a decent way to correlate pricing to “box size” like databases but that’s not really the norm.

@bsinthewild Sorry, I genuinely believe in what I say, but I use strong words that exaggerate the reality in order to extrapolate the opinion so my post sounds bad. Every product should have a price, business is business, but I would never pay this kind of price for this kind of product.

Draft RFC: agentpass.com is an open protocol for agent authorization Key features - Task-scoped auth, not Harness-scoped - Approvals happen in "Authorities" - Enterprise Authorities have automatic precedence - Federated Authorities are "Sign in with Google" for agents

vibe coding does not yet feel ready for any sort of semi-complex project, by that i mean yoloing code into repos without reviewing it. (unless i'm missing something) llm-assisted coding is freaking amazing but still needs manual reviews by an engineer who deeply knows what they're doing. Next big step change is probably going to be 10xing the speed claude et al. can do the work it's currently doing
