Jackson Williams is the next great Bison receiver. He is so smooth.

Cole Payton put on a show today at his Pro Day! Cole ripped the ball going 52/54. He checked all of the boxes today and displayed why he is one of the best QBs in this draft. One team is going to land a future franchise QB.

@thow15 Hate to be that guy, but I was less than impressed with the officiating in the first half. A lot they let go, only to blow the whistle for some ticky tacky touch fouls.

Waiting period for moving up is ridiculous. NCAA grants additional college eligibility to kids drafted into the NBA, but will try try and enforce this BS rule...curious to see how this plays out, hoping for the best.

#NDSU AD Matt Larsen tells me the Bison will aggressively pursue a waiver to be immediately eligible for the Mountain West title game, bowls and the CFP. He expects support from the MWC.

@thow15 Just noticed that all future schedules, starting with this Fall, have been scrubbed from the Go Bison site. There are some options out there to fill with FBS, but curious if they maybe aren't forced to keep one of the home FCS games, to get 11-12 games.

@IceBorg Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't all P4 teams move to play 9 conference games and push for non-conference match-ups against other P4 teams? Honestly, NDSU may get one P4 game a year, but bulk of n/c schedule would be made up of other G6 teams, IMO.

@SamHerderFCS @NDScores I am for the move personally. I just wish the non Group of 5 (or 4, or whatever it is lol) conferences would have their own 16 to 24 team playoff, of course minus the 1 or 2 a year that make the FBS playoffs. Bowls have lost their appeal to teams and fans IMO.

There it is. First official report is in. NDSU is going FBS this year. It’s paying a hefty fee to get in, but football-only was the dream scenario. And it’s about time. I’ll say it again - The FCS has been good for NDSU, and NDSU has been good for the FCS. But it’s been time for a while for NDSU to go FBS. And it finally gets that invite. There was FCS fatigue in Fargo. And Bison fatigue in the FCS. The more FCS titles NDSU won, the more Bison fans wanted to leave while other FCS fans were getting bored of the same result. That scenario wasn’t good for the FCS or for the NDSU football program. It was time. Losing its top brand has its obvious cons for the FCS. And it weakens the subdivision. But there are also some pros in this case, and I think it makes the FCS playoffs more exciting. It opens the door for newer storylines in the national FCS picture, and we saw that this season in the bracket when NDSU exited early, which resulted in more intrigue and stronger TV viewership compared to past years. This move makes sense for NDSU and the MWC. The Bison will be among the top G6 teams. And I don’t think many in the FCS, besides a few fan bases, are sad to see them leave. And perhaps one day, NDSU and some current FCS teams will be together again.

Sources: North Dakota State has agreed to a deal to join the Mountain West in football only for 2026. The school is expected to pay nearly $12 million to join the league, which is in addition to the $5 million it will pay the NCAA to move to FBS.

@goon48 @MVCsports Playing UNLV in Vegas, rather than Indiana State in Terre Haute...not much of a comparison. More about positioning at this point, IMO, if/when the P4 breaks off on their own & further realignment takes place, NDSU will already have their foot in the FBS door.

So, FCS football fans. In this conference really an upgrade from @MVCsports football? I don’t think so.
