كثير منكم رأى اليوم هذا المشهد الذي ظنه البعض صاروخاً إيرانياً انشطارياً يتساقط على دبي بينما تتصدى له الدفاعات الجوية. في الحقيقة، هذه الضربة الإيرانية على دبي لم تكن سوى خدعة كلفت الإمارات عشرات الملايين من الدولارات وعشرات من صواريخها الاعتراضية. إيران أطلقت قنابل ضوئية حرارية عبر صاروخ باليستي بدون رأس متفجر، ما أجبر الصواريخ الاعتراضية الإماراتية على الخروج لمواجهة قنابل إيرانية ضوئية فارغة. العملية استنزفت على الأرجح عشرة صواريخ اعتراضية على الأقل، يتجاوز ثمن الواحد منها خمسة ملايين دولار، ويستغرق تصنيع الواحدة عدة أشهر. إيران تتلاعب بالدفاعات الجوية الأمريكية في المنطقة بشكل مهين ومحرج للغاية، والخليجيون بسبب غبائهم العسكري استنزفوا جزءاً ضخماً من مقدراتهم الاعتراضية بدون سبب وجيه حقيقي.
