Let's talk about what happened and clarify our launch.
1 / Originally, our plan was to launch with @luminexio. We were in constant contact with them via a ticket on their Discord. Everything was going smoothly. They knew our supply, our mint price, our phases, etc.
We were focusing on finalizing the artwork, the trait rules, collecting WL wallets, marketing, and more.
So at a certain point, for a 5-day timespan, we did not send a message in their Discord and unfortunately, they took this as us ghosting them.
When we came back to let them know we are launching soon, they told us that they do not accommodate projects that are over $40, even though they knew our mint price from day 1.
They closed the ticket.
Now that we know they will not support our launch due to pricing (even though they have a project on their launchpad right now at our exact mint price), we started looking elsewhere.
2 / We landed on @MEonBTC. Pretty unresponsive due to timezone differences and they were swamped with prepping for the runes launch. No biggie, time to look elsewhere.
3 / We landed on @trygamma. We were really excited to launch with Gamma, but to our surprise, 1 day before launch we found out that they take 10% of mint proceeds + they charge users per mint (and the only reason we found out is because we asked).
We decided to not go with Gamma as 10% would jeopardize our runway to execute our plans for the project. Add the fact that they're charging users 7500 sats per mint, we felt like Gamma was not for the culture and going with them would be a huge mistake.
4 / Now, it's getting a bit tense. 2 days before launch. We decided to reach out to @ordzaar and we were in contact with @FullTiltFrancis who assured us he would take care of our launch, even though the whole team was busy launching Ordzaar Pass.
Their whitelist feature was not working, which meant we couldn't "schedule" our launch until the feature was fixed. They estimated the fix to be 1 hour before our launch (11:00 AM EST).
Fast forward to 11:00 AM, whitelisting was live, but their scheduling feature would only allow you to schedule your launch if you did it 6 hours prior, which we couldn't do because whitelisting was broken at the time.
We were advised by francis to just wait 30 minutes before our launch time and to launch the collection without scheduling.
When you launch a collection on ordzaar, you have to inscribe metadata to go live. For this inscription, they do not have the option for you to set your fee rate manually, so we set it at "Fast" which at the time was around 100 sats/vB.
That tx passed, but our collection was still not live. We were told that there is another tx that has to go through in the backend for the collection to go live.
We asked them to send us the tx hash, but were told that they cannot fetch it. So we were completely in the dark as to when our collection would go live with ordzaar as we did not know the fee rate of that transaction.
The FUD has begun in the meantime.
During this time, we were sending messages to Ordzaar asking them to increase the fee rate for that transaction so that our collection would go live. A lot of attitude and borderline disrespect is what we received in exchange. "Exercise patience" they said.
Now it's more than an hour and our collection is still not live. We were advised by Ordzaar to re-launch the collection. So we did.
The initial transaction passed (same as the first time we launched the collection), but once again there is a ghost transaction that we can't track, so we're in the dark. Waiting.
3 blocks pass after the initial tx is confirmed, and still our collection is not live.
5 / This is when we said fuck it and reached out to @ordinalgenesis (absolute chads).
They literally had our collection up and running within minutes of us reaching out to them.
No inscribing, no waiting, no ghost transactions, no excuses, fast response, respectful, understanding that time is of the essence, very smooth experience.
And that is why we launched on ordinal genesis.
A few minutes after, to our luck, our ordzaar collection went live.
All in all, a very stressful experience.
We wanted to take this time to clarify the reasoning behind the delay and the last second platform switch.
Hope that helps shine some light on our decision.
It's unfortunate the mint went down like this, considering we put months of work into the artwork.
Some team members even quit their day job to work on BTC Demons. That's how serious we were, and we still are.
Feel free to ask us anything on this tweet.
