Rebuttal to the “One-China Principle” Claim UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 (1971) addressed only the question of which government represents “China” at the United Nations. It did not determine Taiwan’s sovereignty, nor did it state that Taiwan is part of the People’s Republic of China. Many countries maintain diplomatic relations with the PRC, but this is based on a “one-China policy,” not endorsement of Beijing’s “one-China principle.” Most Western countries acknowledge China’s position without recognizing it and take no position on Taiwan’s sovereignty. The United States, Japan, the EU, and G7 members have all clarified that Resolution 2758 does not define Taiwan’s status and that any attempt to change the status quo by force is unacceptable. Historically, the PRC has never governed Taiwan, even for a single day. Claiming sovereignty without historical governance or explicit international legal recognition is not a global consensus, but a political interpretation promoted by Beijing. 今天基隆的國民黨部發言人黃申棟和立委林沛祥的助理，突然召開記者會，指控罷免立委林沛祥的民團「基隆絕沛」，「違法邀請外國人矢板明夫來助講」，還強調說，這不是「擦邊球」，而是赤裸裸的違法，根據「公職人員選舉罷免法」規定，外國人不得參與罷免助講活動，違者可處以罰鍰，而根據「入出國及移民法」，情節嚴重移民署得強制驅逐出國。他們還拿出了兩份「檢舉函」。一份交給移民署，另一份交給中選會，還大聲疾呼「移民署別裝死」，要求對我進行嚴懲。 首先，黃發言人對相關法條的解釋並不準確，有誇大其詞之嫌。最離譜的，是他們的指控前提根本不對。因為，我在去年已經取得了中華民國國籍，正式成為了台灣人。我評論和要求罷免自己國家的不稱職立委，是一個國民理所當然的權利。 可能是國民黨的相關人士，最近涉嫌偽造文書等多項違法，就想當然地認為別人也一定違法。在完全不經過求證的情況下，便冒然跳出來檢舉、指控別人。這種做法實在令人搖頭。要想求證我是否有中華民國國籍，有很多辦法。很多媒體人和政治人物都知道我的聯繫方式，隨便找個人問一下、給我打個電話，就可以問清楚的事情，他們卻偏偏不做，便召開記者會搞烏龍檢舉、浪費社會資源。 至於我為何取得台灣國籍，其實理由也很簡單。去年我離開產經新聞之前，就決定留在台灣。既然把台灣當作了自己的家，就申請了國籍。 做一個媒體人，我經常寫一些政治評論。我的主張是，拒絕中國的統戰、捍衛台灣的民主自由。有些話，作為當事人講出來會更有底氣一些。 總之，我會留在台灣，和大家一起呵護這片土地。請多多關照。
