@ecomarxi Except these models don’t work in practice because of something called incentives. When there is no incentive to work because you will be given something anyway, and hard work goes unrewarded, guess what happens. There is a reason why the U.S, has the most successful economy.

@michelletandler Agreed, but it wouldn’t have had a material impact on the outcome. It may have even backfired given her extremely poor performance on unscripted interviews.

Kamala should have taken the interview with Joe Rogan. Rogan has ~100 million monthly listeners, and about 80% are men. She snubbed him. But worse, she snubbed his audience. That was a huge mistake.

@michelletandler Trump was gradually gaining ground. VP debate evened things up and exposed weaknesses in the campaign. The media blitz has backfired and reinforced voter concerns. Anything can happen, but Harris has a narrow path.

@michelletandler What do you mean by risk of war? A civil war or war with a foreign power? I agree that political polarization is a risk for other reasons, but I believe that Americans unite when we need to, as in a time of war or great threat.

I increasingly believe that our biggest issue as a nation is political polarization. If our country continues to be split into two sides that won't work together, talk to one another, or listen to alternative POVs, it seems we are at risk of war. Do you agree?

@ewarren You must have missed that Social Security is designed as a retirement savings program, not a welfare program. The real problem is that Social Security has been raided by endless spending deficits.

The payroll tax that funds Social Security does not apply to income above $160,000. So Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, the richest men on Earth, contribute just as much as your neighborhood dentist. I’m fighting to expand Social Security by getting the wealthy to pay their fair share.

I hope I get to see a day where Americans and Russians find the same type of common ground as the previously unthinkable bonds forged with Germany and Japan. My grandfather fought in WW2 off the coast of Japan and look how far all of us have come in only two generations. Halfway across the world, my East German relatives were cut off from my grandmother’s side of the family from WW2 until the fall of the Berlin Wall. But then we reunited in the 90s. And we hang out together whenever we can. In the end, we are all people. We should always keep open the possibility that we are more alike than different.

It's Tax Day, America. I'm not done fighting to build a fairer tax code and make the super-wealthy pay their fair share. An economy where a millionaire pays less in taxes than an educator is an economy that doesn't work.
