A very enjoyable PM playing for Evensong with new friends up at @StWulframs Grantham today. Just small-scale stuff: Stanford and 'Blessed city', the latter hastily revived so I could step in for them. Good fun!

And a very good day it was too, with an especially affirming and heartening discussion about junior choirs and children in churches. Wonderful to hear of so much fantastic (& necessary) work going on all over. Now to play our part in Stamford!

Wonderful to have been representing @SaintsOnline in Lincoln today for the inaugural meeting of the new diocesan Choral Churches Network - really excited to see how we can all work together and support each other!

Pleased that, as I thought they might be, Guilmant and the Binns organ at All Saints (@SaintsOnline) were rather a good combination for Candlemas this morning :) (Even if the pneumatic action seems to occasionaly be struggling to keep up...)

A really lovely programme for tonight's #CollegiumLaureatum 'Leipzig at Christmas' concert - BWVs 40 & 91 always good, but also particularly enjoying companion cantatas by Telemann and Kuhnau.

I’m excited to announce that, from early January 2024, I will be taking up the post of Director of Music at All Saints’, Stamford. @SaintsOnline is seeking to expand its established choral tradition, and I am thrilled to have been appointed to lead this exciting development.

Benedict’s last Sunday at Great St Mary’s will be the 7 January, when all are warmly invited to join us for his official farewell at and after the 10am Eucharist.

It is being announced at our services today that Benedict Todd, our Organist and Assistant Director of Music, will be leaving Great St Mary’s in January 2024 to take up a new post as Director of Music at All Saints’ church, Stamford.

Huge thanks also to brilliant colleagues, especially our fantastic ADoM, tremendous trumpeters and with a special guest appearance from the University Organist too.

So incredibly proud of all our choir members (from all sections of our main choir) who worked so hard preparing for and then singing at our Festal Mattins celebrating the #coronation of King Charles III at @GreatStMarys today. A truly brilliant effort all round!
