From February 2025-February 2026, PPI shows that prices increased for freight transportation and equipment 2.2%. BTS Data Release: Transportation Consumer Price Index (CPI) – February 2026 The CPI for all transportation goods and services fell 0.5% from February 2025 to February 2026. Transportation dampened the 2.4% increase in the price of all goods and services by 3.6%, per the CPI. BTS Data Release: Border Crossing Data Annual Release: 2025 Personal vehicles are the primary mode of transportation for entering the U.S. by land, with 94.4 million crossings in 2025. Pedestrian traffic showed steady growth in 2025, increasing by 9.9% year-over-year to 45.1 million, primarily comprising of crossings from Mexico, with 44.8 million entries. Commercial truck traffic saw a slight 2.4% dip in 2025 compared to the previous year.
