I've heard that this movie wasn't actually that bad looking in the theater (it was shot by Daniel Pearl, who was the DP on both versions of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), but every home video transfer is too dark and no one has bothered to fix it

That's one thing you notice with a lot of conspiracy theories: they'll say so-and-so is doing such-and-such to for personal gain, but they never actually explain how doing that thing is supposed to benefit the individual or group they're talking about. Underpants gnome logic!

Even the Guardian in 2003 did this (bed in the headline, bedroom in the article).

I don't mind politicians like Zorhan Mamdani condemning an assassination attempt on Trump. It's in the interest of Mamdani's agenda for him to have a working relationship with the president. And tbh, I don't think turning Trump into a martyr would go well for us, anyway.
