All I will say is, don’t send your kids to a military boarding school. Life was so cruel and horrible there that survival and pain became our new normal. We grew up and thought we turned out fine, but most of us in fact didn’t turn out fine. To put it in context, I dreamt about boarding school last night. It’s been closely a decade since I graduated. I never dream about Uni but always high school because I’m still traumatized. Again, do not ever send your children to a military boarding school.

I accidentally broke my brain reading about Nobel Prize winners last month. There's this thing called "Janusian thinking" that basically explains why some people's minds work like magic while the rest of us think in straight lines. Named after Janus, the Roman god with two faces pointing opposite directions. The psychologist who discovered it, Albert Rothenberg, was trying to figure out what made breakthrough thinkers different. He interviewed dozens of Nobel laureates, major artists, revolutionary scientists. What he found sounds impossible. These people can hold two different ideas in their mind at the same time. They can explore both without switching back and forth or forcing a quick comparison. They can consider “yes” and “no” to the same question simultaneously and stay clear-headed. Einstein too talked about this when he described his relativity breakthrough. He was imagining riding alongside a beam of light while also standing perfectly still. Both perspectives at once. Mozart said he could hear an entire symphony "all at once," every note, every contradiction, every resolution happening in a single moment of awareness. Your average person's mind works like a courtroom. Evidence comes in, you weigh it, you reach a verdict. Case closed. But Janusian minds work more like... I don't know, like a quantum computer that can process multiple realities simultaneously until something new emerges from the overlap. I've started noticing it in conversations. When someone can genuinely see both sides of something without needing to pick one, it drives people nuts. They want you to land somewhere definite. The ability to live in that tension space reads as wishy-washy or indecisive. Most creative advice tells you to "think outside the box." But Janusian thinking is weirder than that. It's being inside and outside the box at the same time. It's thinking the box exists and doesn't exist simultaneously. Which explains why truly creative people seem slightly unhinged. They think they're choosing between realities. But, they're inhabiting multiple realities at once, mining the contradictions for insights the rest of us never see. Sadly, most of us have trained ourselves out of this ability. We've learned that holding contradictions feels unstable, so we rush toward resolution. We've been taught that changing your mind means you were wrong before, so we defend positions instead of exploring them. But the people changing the world have kept that childlike ability to hold impossible thoughts without needing them to make sense immediately. We just need to live in the questions everyone else is too scared to ask.

I still remember one random day in uni… Walked into the gym and saw one guy absolutely destroying the punching bag with pure will. No fancy setup, just raw aggression. Me too I said “how hard can it be?” Picked up gloves to spar. In my head, I was tough… strong core, body shots don’t move me like that. We started light. Then boom — ONE clean liver shot. Omo… my body just shut down 😭 Not immediately like a headshot… it delayed for like half a second, then everything hit at once. Legs gone. Breath gone. Pride gone. I tried to stand strong because people were watching… lasted less than a second. I folded, clutching my side like my life depended on it. That pain is not normal pain. It’s deep. It spreads. It lingers. Like your inside is being twisted and your body is betraying you at the same time. Closest thing? Maybe getting hit in the balls… but even that doesn’t fully explain it. Ever since that day, I respect the liver shot differently. It’s not just a punch… it’s a “fight-ending button.” Now imagine a random person being that punching bag Anthony Joshua is hitting with his left hand 😂

I just created a dope playlist on Spotify for the weekend. It’s a playlist of 63 songs centered on themes like religion, self-consciousness, reflection, love, trauma, addiction, heartbreak, and gratitude. I’ll be quoting this tweet shortly with the playlist, and I’ll drop the Spotify link in the comment section of the quote. This is one of the best playlists I’ve created. Each theme flows into the next. It took me some valuable time to put together, and I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be expecting your feedback in the comment section. Wishing you a lovely weekend.

An Open Letter to the person who is tired of giving "free value" without getting paid. Come closer. Pull up a chair. Let’s talk. I know exactly what you are doing. You are spending 4 hours on Canva, carefully designing those 10-slide step-by-step tutorials. Spending hours writing captions for all the platforms. Scripting videos to shoot, edit and post. You genuinely want to see people win. The industry told you to "provide value," so you became the internet’s favorite digital philanthropist. And it feels good, doesn't it? The likes, bookmarks, the saves, the comments saying, "Boss, you are doing well!" and "God bless you for this free value!". Let me show you why your bank account is quiet despite all your hard work. Imagine your car engine starts smoking on the Third Mainland Bridge. You are stressed, sweating, and late for a critical meeting. You manage to push the car to a mechanic's workshop. The Head Mechanic comes to you, smiles, pats your back, and hand you a beautifully printed 10-page tutorial on "How to dismantle your own carburetor". I don't know about you but if he did that, I would be furious. I would nearly swallow his head. I'm not interested in learning how to fix the car. I want him to fix it for me so I can move on with my life. My friend, this is exactly what you are doing to your premium clients and customers. The people who bookmark your step-by-step tutorials are usually beginners with zero budget, trying to do it themselves. But the real buyers? the ones who can drop big money without blinking? They're not looking for a tutorial. They don't want homework. They are exhausted. They are looking for a savior, not a school teacher. When you constantly give away the "How-To," you accidentally train your audience to see you as a free Wikipedia page. And nobody pays Wikipedia. Keep your good heart, but I need you to also elevate your posture. So here is the simple shift we are making today: ➭ We are retiring the Teacher and awakening the Consultant. From now on, your free content will focus on the "What" and the "Why." You will help them understand what is going wrong, and why their current methods are failing. You will give them massive "Aha!" moments that expose their blind spots. But the "How" to fix it? The step-by-step execution? That is your intellectual property. That is the surgery. That is what they pay you for. They'll try to gaslight you by saying you're gatekeeping but that's okay. It is far better to be called a "gatekeeper" by a crowd of freebie-seekers than to be celebrated into extreme poverty. Day 10 is over. You have given enough free charity. Put down the chalk and start collecting your money. ================== Leave a comment and repost if you found some light in this. ~ V.O.V

WHY FIGHTING YOUR NATURE IS BAD: Alignment with yourself is extremely important. Only when you work with your nature can you use your full strength. Many people spend their lives trying to become someone they are not. They suppress their instincts, their tendencies, and the way their mind naturally works. But this only creates friction. When you constantly fight your own nature, you waste energy. When you accept it and learn how to use it, that same energy becomes power. The goal is not to erase who you are. The goal is to direct it. Once you stop fighting yourself, you can finally move forward with full force.

Don’t fight your nature. Use it: ● If you overthink, use it to analyze deeply ● If you sleep a lot, use the energy when you are awake ● If you are quiet, become a great observer ● If you are emotional, turn it into empathy ● If you are stubborn, use it as persistence ● If you question everything, become a truth seeker ● If you get obsessed, master one craft ● If you are impatient, build momentum quickly ● If you are sensitive, notice what others miss ● If you prefer solitude, use it to build and think ● If you doubt yourself, let it push you to prepare better ● If you feel different, create your own path Stop trying to become someone else. Master who you already are.
