Jeremy Clarkson is absolutely right. I have told my story about my cancer diagnosis and how hard I had to fight to get someone to take me seriously. A year before I got my stage three diagnosis (later upgraded to four), I kept telling my primary care that I was concerned that some of the digestive issues I was having could be cancer related. They totally dismissed me and told me it was probably my diet. Eight months before I was diagnosed, I went to the emergency room with insane stomach cramping. I specifically asked them if I should be worried about cancer. They conducted a CT and told me, nope no worries about cancer. Again, probably your diet or diverticulitis. Finally get colonoscopy and, SURPRISE, it was a massive tumor causing the problem all along. I never saw blood, which was why they didn’t take me seriously. So my message to everyone having these kinds of issues is, just lie. Say you see blood so they will get you properly tested. I don’t know if anybody’s gonna rebuke me for this, but I’m trying to save lives out here.

Are you really against traditional publishing? Or are you salty because it’s incredibly difficult to get published? Lit agents: is this why people who are actually writers, end up successful because they stick with it and don’t worry about shit?
