Hi friends, I recently left my 9-5 dev job and decided I’m never going to work for someone else again (except the consumer😆) I’ve been building and failing in private but I thought it was time to share my journey! I have enough runway for 2 years to build sustainable income. But I still won’t stop even if I don’t make it happen by then. Looking to connect with people who love building software and want to actually be useful in life. :)

I’m looking to hire someone to design my mobile app. If that’s you, drop a comment or link me to mobile apps you’ve designed. I’ll dm you if i like your work and we can talk further!

Average vibe coders: "let me just add this one last feature before I launch" and still building after 3 weeks.

Its Sunday. Do you guys consider this the start of a new week or the last day of the week? To me, its the last day.

@DanielSmidstrup I'm finally building something that I will use regardless if it failed with the consumer. Really takes the pressure off and enjoyment up

Be honest. Are you building what excites you or what someone is actually asking for? I've been guilty of both. The second one pays.

@BacLeodiv if you can do both, both. But typically free traffic seems like the best route for most b2c products

I've gotten so much crap in my life for spending so many countless hours at my desk instead of going and socializing with people all the time. Ironically most of my best moments in my life have been grinding at my desk for 12 hours a day locked in on something i'm obsessed with.

Starting a new app is really cumbersome in so many ways lmao. Buying domains, registering mailboxes, building a web app for your mobile app, seo, llc registration, registering for ios developer account, setup payments, picking your distribution channel and warming up accounts, hiring designers, hiring ugc creators, etc etc. But honestly it does get a little less painful every time you start over. still a longg process tho

@EndrewBiz I cannot believe people sit through that onboarding. I delete anything that takes that long to onboard. Less than 30 seconds or I’m out

prayer lock is the most successful built in public app, here’s their onboarding: 36 screens + rate app 2x in onboarding + test viral feature + sign your commitment

1 year ago today the app that forever changed my life was launched it took me 3 days to build and over a week to get approved on the app store in only a year the app went from nothing to the most successful christian productivity app in the world it was because of this app that: - i got married - i became a Christian - i met my cofounder @ErnestoSOFTWARE - i made more money than i ever thought possible this app quite literally changed my life it's my baby and i will be forever grateful this first year will dwarf what we have planned for the next one🔥

People talk about not caring about the product and worrying only about distribution aren't technically incorrect but I feel like you have an obligation to paying users to give them a good application. Super shitty when you by an app and does not work how it was advertised. Not everything is about the dollar

@web3kreative Well obviously LLM’s can generate a web app ui no problem. But like actual style and taste with an app

@bucky_MT Not the only option, but the fastest way to get it right. AI tools can generate layouts but they can't think through user flows, fix hierarchy issues, or make design decisions that actually serve your product goals. What are you building

Is hiring a designer the only option to secure a good mobile application design?
