just a reminder Hugh Hammer was never a complex character. he wasn’t morally gray. he wasn’t wronged by royals. he was denied a child bride and decided to betray Rhaenyra bc he was a greedy pos

@RealPriyanshu9 In the book also he had a reason. It was not random. He expected to be made lord of one of great green houses but instead awarded knighthood and some land on driftmark. Plus the prophecy about hammer and dragon played a part.

@buff_err I am sure they will skip that, did you watch the episode???? He will do all these things but in show he will have a reason behind it That's the change Not doing it for just shock value like in books

@RealPriyanshu9 Yeah but it dilutes how brutal he was during sack of tumbleton and how much mass sexuall attrocities he caused during sack. I am sure they will skip that and many will root for this person and justify his betrayal. One of the worst person during dance.

@buff_err & that's called adding complexity 90% audience are non book readers You make changes in order for Hugh to betray Rhaenyra to make sense in the show in contrast to book where he is just one dimensional & with no character work & motivation It will feel jaded for show audience

@daenysdreams Yeah..in the book there was not an iota of hint that he had a wife and ailing daughter. They created one in the show. Now all his actions during sack of tumbleton will be justified in pretext of attack on his family. Or maybe they will completely skip the brutal sack in the show

And some claim the show favours team black. Lol..it outright whitewashed the greens. I mean they changed Alicent arc completely. Same Alicent who said "ba$tard blood shed at war" for the death of Jace and viserys will now Rhaenyra's unknown advisor. 🤷 Forced so many changes.

@GirlAckerboss They literally whitewashed hugh hammer. Made him a loving father and husband. His atrocities and brutality was so much detailed by almost all narrators in the book. They are justifying his actions of betrayal by making blacks harm his wife. And he is on some revenge journey. 🤷

@fkadaenerys They could have changed Rhaenyra's view even after including nettles. They already changed almost arc of most of the characters. Even dragonseeds. Made scum like Hugh hammer a loving father and husband.

i really wanna know why they thought turning rhaena into nettles was the best idea, all I can think is bc they didn’t want to deal with rhaenyra’s views about her 😭😭😭

@wynafrydly If not for dragons, Dragonstone would have fallen that day. Driftmark was raided and looted by Triarchy. Besides they got to know very late when injured stormcloud brought Aegon III on Dragonstone.

So the Gullet has more dragons than in the books and they still got fucked up
